Fostering help needed for a friend

I have a friend who has been put into an awful situation. She has been told she has to give up her 2 rabbits for fostering for a couple of years. They don't really have enough space for them and, although her OH has said he will welcome them back when they do, he has told her that they really need to find someone to look after them for the mean time.

She is, understandably, distraught so I said I would ask on here to see if anyone knows anyone who could help? She will provide a large outdoor hutch for them, they are both insured and bonded and are (of course!) wonderful little bunnies and she is in pieces not knowing where to look for a wonderful (albeit temporary) home for them.

Can anyone help or suggest anyone they know?


PS she is a UK friend not a Brunei friend!!!

I have a nice size garden and I'm sure my OH wouldn't mind me looking after a couple more buns they would just join the rest of them in my garden. The offer is there if they wish. Plus I'm sure Charlotte would pop in to have a cuddle of them.

I will ask her and direct her to this thread (if she hasn't seen it already). I encouraged her to come on here herself but she's too upset and a bit worried about the reception she would get i think...

oh she has said she will travel to anywhere for these bunnies but it would need to be for someone who will give her regular updates on them. She loves them so much and is agony over having to give them up but she can't let her boyfriend go.

Sadly I know how she feels and Charl has been an angel keeping me in touch with my 3 so it would have to be someone who a) is willing to give them back after about 2 years and b) will give her photos, updates etc on them so she knows how they are doing.

Hope to hear from your friend soon it would be nice to see her on HH. We are not here to judge anyone, and I would love to help her out by looking after the Buns for her till circumstances change. I'm sure anyone on this site would love to keep her up-to-date on how they are doing with videos and pics.
I would Love to look after them and Keep her updated on how they are doing plus she can also contact me anytime.

thanks pal, will let her know. i think she is just worried people will think she's a bad bunny-mummy for having to give up her bunsters. She loves them to pieces and is still in floods of tears over this

Tell her she is not giving up her bunsters just finding a temp home till things change. If they were to come here the bunsters would have to put up with not only my three kids but my neighbours kids as all the bunsters here plus Charlottes piggies have celeb status everyone wants to cuddle or sit and watch them.

I can recommend Dawn as an excellent fosterer!

Not as far as I know. She has about a month before having to give them up and is 'weighing up the options'. It's still very raw at the moment but she has seen this thread and is having a chat with the OH and a think (and probably a cry )..

I may as well come clean. The fostering is for two of mine. It is the hardest thing in the world to do and I wish it wasn't happening. I love them very much.

They will be well looked after till you can be united again fostering is great as it isn't a forever just a temp. We are here to support you and I'm sure everyone will feel the same. xx

Aww no, I'm really sorry to hear that you're gonna have to do this... big hugs, and I'm sure it'll work out for the best for them. I can't imagine how awful it must feel, but once they are sorted out it'll be better, promise x

This matter has now, thankfully been resolved! Boblets is keeping her buns!
