Vibes for Albert piggie

Albert has been a dental piggy since I got him. In the last few months he's been loads better, I've not seen any trouble with him eating and drinking, but today I noticed one cheek looked swollen so I thought I should take a peek. His back teeth are virtually horizontal and there is what looks like an abcess forming. I can't understand how he's got so bad so quickly with no outward signs, he's still his usual happy popcorning self, stuffing his face, but I have to wonder how much he can possibly be able to swallow.

My vet can't see him till tomorrow, but I'm so worried. He's never been a 100% healthy pig and I don't think he can survive this.

I'm so relieved - picked Albert up this afternoon and Justine was much more hopeful than me. She's trimmed all his teeth, agreed with me that they looked like hell but she thinks that it due to the amount of dental work he's had over the years!

He came through the anasthetic really well, and he's eating quite happily. No poops yet, and he hasn't touched his water bowl, so just got to keep a close eye on him...
