If a new post is added to a thread as I submit mine the Forum gives the option to modify my post or save it.
If I save it I am logged out and the same thing happens if I click on modify.

Is it happening repeatedly Jane? Do you have Private Browsing set on your Internet Browser? You might also want to try emptying the cache.
