What to use under the run?
Right question in the title basically what do you use under your runs that are on grass to stop your furrys digging out? Ihave this chicken coop for Jojo to move into when the spring/early summer comes around, this is the coop

Re: What to use under the run?
that's amazing They're gonna love it! I have no idea what to use, could you put paving slabs or similar around the edges?
Re: What to use under the run?
Mine don't have anything and have never tried to dig out. They did dig a big burrow, but that was in the middle of the run and was just based on instinct rather than an escape plan.
I would wait and see if she is a digger. You can take a spade and lift the turf around the edge horizontally, then slip under some chicken wire at the edge and relay the turf. That way if they did at the edges, they don't get out.

OK, on reflection that does sound unbelievable! However, a burrow built in the middle of the run does sound like a miscalculation on Gloria's part. That is probably why they were climbing the fence instead.

Re: What to use under the run?
I think I have seen pics of set ups where people have done what Jay suggested there
Two of my rabbits were on a run in the middle of the lawn most days and they never tried to dig out. In fact none of my rabbits have ever tried to dig directly on the grass, only where the flowers are planted are so like where its just soil. I always assumed the reason people did this was to stop foxes digging in not rabbits digging out We don't have foxes so I never bothered doing it. They never got out anyways
