Hot ears?!

Jacks' got really hot ears, is this normal. He's been running around could this be a cause? xx

rabbits use their ears like thermostats, as they contain big blood vessels near to the skin. So when they're hot, these vessels expand and release the heat to cool the blood. When they are cold, the ears will be cold as they are conserving heat.
You can see the effects of this in this pic, which we took with a thermal imaging camera, of my last bun, Bertie.

Lots of animals that live in hot climates like deserts have big ears. They have lots of blood vessels in their ears that help to get rid of the heat so they don't overheat.

Jack is probably just a bit hot from being so busy. Don't worry about it.
