Re: why do rabbits buckaroo?
Hey there.
The buckarooing could be what we call a "binky" this is when the leap in the air kicking their legs out. generally in means that they are having fun and are happy.
The babies could be kicking because they are either frightened or dont have enough space. how big is the hutch they are in hun? Do they have a bunny run? They will have soooo much energy and will be needing to use it up.

You're getting it right... a high-flying bun is a happy one!
Babies just "want out!" Stamoing is probably frustrated buckerooing!

Re: why do rabbits buckaroo?
the babies come out every night and run through the house tearing up the place for about 5 hour, I cant let them out in the garden yet as there are some small holes for them to get through but will be on to it in the next sunny day.
They looked happy when they buckaroo but thought it might be a tic or something as only some do it.
The hut they are in is 5 foot long 2 foot wide and 20" high its the biggest one I have atm, when do you recomend they can be let out with the others??

Re: why do rabbits buckaroo?
Are the others neutered hun?
The babies will be able to have babies very quickly and therefore you will need to keep this in mind when mixing them. Are they altogether at the moment?
Also its important to remember that bunnies are like people in that not all buns will get on with other buns. Normally they are mixed together through a process called Bonding to make them friends. This is something we will hopefully be able to help you with later on. x
Un neutered and un bonded females and males will fight and can cause each other terrible injuries, and its not uncommon for buns to die from this.
Ideally I would transfer them into a larger hutch with a run attached until the males are old enough to be neutered (they can be neutered sooner). The rabbit welfare association and RSPCA reccomends a minimun size of 6ft x 2ft x 2 ft with at least 8 hours a day access to a run. Smaller sizes can create problems with their development including curved spines, arthritis, sores, mobility problems and can encourage them to fight. Perhaps if you cant get a bigger hutch right now - perhaps a run for them to be able to go in?
I know its all a lot to take in but Buns are such complicated little creatures.
We are all still learning and I can see that you want them all to have a really happy life with you.
We will help any way you can. Im not criticising you, I think you are doing a brilliant job, just want to help if I can.

Re: why do rabbits buckaroo?
@daisy
Ive ordered a new run for them today I thought with them being able to stand up in the hut it would be ok for them, either way there new run is on its way and i cant wait. And they are both little girls x
Im gonna get our buster neutered he is the only on in a massive cage at the min untill I get him done which will hopefully be the end of this week.
Ive never had a litter off any of the rabbits and dont want to as It would stop me taking in more. I run a page on fb where ppl know I take in unwanted bunnies as I would hate them just to sit in a cage unwanted unkept untill they pass. xx

I wish more people felt this way too. There are about 55,000 rabbits in rescue at the moment all needing homes not to mention the 1.6 million rabbits the RSPCA estimated live in poor conditions. Its heartbreaking.
I bet the girls are going to LOVE their new run. Lucky bunsters!!!!
