Oh Lisa, I aam so sorry to hear this, it sucks. Lots of vibes for Mabel. I have a cat with a severe heart murmer and he does well (touch wood). Let us hope it can be the same for bunnies.

just to update mabels blood results came back alot earlier then expected, and vets wanted her admitted straight away so she gone to a 24/7 vets where nurses/vets on shifts all day long over the weekened, her liver results where abnormal and caused alot of concern, she is on fluids and having force feeds but i phoned up she is bright and also eating herself, and pooing ok

bloods will be redone, if no chnage then maybe a scan on her tummy to check her liver condition
once she has been built up then will have another dental when safer to do a GA on her

i asked about her murmur they said it didnlt sound to bad not severe

she coming home this afternoon, they dont understand how she can eat like a pig but her weight is rubbish and her liver results bad, doing another blood test before i oick her up

she going ashliegh vets tomorrow at 2pm

mabels back home they redid bloods her liver results had imroved since first set of bloods taken, and she put on 100 grams overnight at vets

she going to specialist vets tomorrow, to see about a scan of her heart, but my sister is convinced that mabel was maybe fretting for me while i was away and so thats how she became poorly

they said her protein levels where still low but that is prob due to her not eating much for few days

Oh that sounds much better so glad Mabel has put some weight on Bless her

I'm so glad Mabel is getting better. I hope everything goes okay at the vets and the specialists. It's strange to think she has a liver problem but she's not showing any problems other than weight loss!

Having you away could have had something to do with it you never know. Tigger had an off 24 hours when I had huge stress at uni and was ill myself. I often wonder of my stress and upset state rubbed off on her.

went to ashleigh vets he said she is an extremely skinny rabbit, her weight today though was 1kg which id say is good for her can;t feel spine like other day, he said in 3 -4 weeks if she gains weight he'd do a GA and heart/lung scan etc and molar root x-rays, but i know she won't ptu weight on in that time, as she has never gone over 1.1kg in her whole life, its just mabel she has always been very thin

he did say heart conditions are rare in rabbits unless they are giant breeds

he said she was aneamic, so going to get her some good foods tomorrow try manke her feel better

he gave her some meds as said her tummy felt doughy and she to take cisopride ? along with the zantac i was given at petmedics until thursday

normally she behaves but she was soo fidgetty today she wanted to be everywhere, normally she sits and says yeah stroke me and fuss me, today she wanted to be elsewhere he moved her to listen with stethescope and nurse had hold her back as she wanted to run to me
think she got fed up of long car journey and got restless

Get some Spinach and Parsley, dried herbs , Broccoli and Thyme, Dill, Basil and Rosemary and Carrot tops as these are some foods that are all rich in iron and nutrients.

Cisapride is a gut stimulent and will help her doughy tummy.

Bless her she will be fidgety with all that she has been going through just lately.

Just throwing a few things out there, but is there any chance you can ad lib feed her? What did he say would happen if she cant put enough weight on for the tests chick?? XXX

thanks, mum got her some baby spinach today, just gave her a few pieces as she never had them before, she also got her broccoli, in the garden
we have herb pot i need bring in for winter, in it is dill, tyme, basil and parsley
