dry grass from pets @ home

Went to get bugs for my reptiles today and thought better get some straw to put in the bunnies beds keep them dry and warm, and noticed this new stuff dry grass, it is a bit pricey but thought it would be good for them for the winter, I am not happy with pets at home hay, feel its far to small cuttings and seems to be alot turn to more of a dust than hay like its cut far to small, so till we get the big bail I am buying the timothy hay products far better quility but over double the price thats only draw back, its only for now will find a better choice of hay else where. Has anyone used this grass product before, its £8 for a bag, it is in very long strips in layers in the packet.

I am going to buy the timothy hay from the online shop if Tina cant get me my bail soon (due to bad weather) but what is best the american, stalky or soft confusing a bit.

Do you mean excel grass forage or maybe alfalfa king timothy hay? The first being dried grass the second matching your layered description. I use readigrass which is a dried grass that come in bale sized bags for horses and it is good and the buns love it, but they can only have a little because it is higher in calcium. I also use the alfalfa king timothy hay which the buns also love and they can have much more of it. It is about £8 and is green in colour.

Thats the one cheryl, the king stuff, its in the shed so cant double check it, I gave a small handfull of lengths to charlie and same to the babys then topped it up with whats left of the rubbish, emailed tina to see if she can find out if the bail be on its way soon so know if need to order the american timothy hay before weather gets worse. That way I know the bunnies have tones to keep them going the next few months.

If so I think that it is ok for them although I think it may be high in Calcium (jay may know more about this) and it also makes them very thirsty but I am sure it wont do them any harm x

I dont want to just buy 1 and they dont like it, found another site with loads to choose from and good prices, there is a shipping charge but seems resonable so far, if I make the most of it and get a few of each pack so they have loads of variaty and all extra high quility foods it works out better than that rubbish you know who stock, (there own brand) they do some of the timothy products but only seen 2 up till now and that new one i got today, want more choice for my bunnies but keep the cost nice and managable.

Its not something will give them every day, alternate days maybe 3 times a week max, along with a different variaty of hay/herb/grass.

I think it would be fine. I think Jay even Re-Hydrated some in the past.

I have a nice variaty in my basket lol, on my other post lol not completed order yet tho.
