Please think of Nia.
Our little Nia has been hospitalised at the vet's since Friday evening after stopping eating.
She had her molars burred late on Friday as they had some sharp edges but has hardly eaten anything for herself since. She has produced a few poops, does have reasonable tummy sounds and seems a little brighter but is not out of the woods yet. We may be looking at blood tests tomorrow if she doesn't pick up over today. It is so difficult with Noo to tell how she is as she is such an unadventurous little thing who only comes to life when the food bowls appear.
I am very worried about our little girl. Gabriel, I think is missing her but given his character I am not sure it in his or Noo's best interest at the moment to be hospitalised together.
Caroline, the vet has been fantastic, I have every faith in her to do the best for Noo.
If there are any spare get well vibes out there can you direct them towards our Noo so that she can come home soon.

Re: Please think of Nia.
Thank you for your thoughts. Caroline phoned earlier - there is no change in Nia
She is going to phone again in the morning, little Noo has not been eating for herself for three days now. I don't know how much longer it is right to keep her going.
Either way I will be going to see her tomorrow. Please keep the vibes coming.

Re: Please think of Nia.
Sending many healing vibes to Nia. That's no good that there is no change.
Has she reacted like this to surgery before? Josephine really doesn't do well with dental burrs, it usually takes about 10 days for her to completely recover and usually the only thing that helps is taking her home and giving her regular metacam until she settles down and starts eating properly again.

The last time she had a dental - 3+ years ago, she came home and started eating straight away. Her biggest pleasure in life is food.
Will have to see what the morning brings. Maybe it is best to bring her home. It is so hard to know what to do for the best with bunnies

Re: Please think of Nia.
Well Nia is back with us - we decided that bringing her home may encourage her to eat due to the possible stress factor whilst at the vets so Gabriel went with me to collect her yesterday.
On the plus side she is a lot more lively (as much as she is ever lively) and seems happy to be back with Gabriel.
However, she is very reluctant to eat - she did snatch two treats from my hand but wouldn't eat them. I have seen her nibble on some hay and possibly some veg but she is not tucking into food as she would normally.
I have been syringe feeding her as I cannot tell how much she is really eating. I really could do with a webcam. The vet did suspect something else going on but I having seen her at home I believe there are still issues within her teeth or mouth.
I have upped the metacam dose, if there is no improvement tomorrow then I think we will have to return to the vet.
She is doing the most horrible stinky unformed poo's - so have also got her on probiotics - there was a better pile of poos left this afternoon.
So, all in all I am still concerned.
If you can send some eating vibes that would be good xx

Re: Please think of Nia.
Hi Vanessa, how lovely to hear from you but wish it wasn't because someone was ill.
Sending loads of vibes for Noo. She has such a lot to put up with what with Gabriel being the nortiest bunny in the world! (Sparky, you don't even come close!!)
Maybe she just needs a little more time to realise that the pain has stopped. Fingers crossed she is back to normal soon. Please let us know how she fares. xx

Re: Please think of Nia.
Good news
The nomming vibes seem to be helping :
This morning Noo has had a few pellets, some veg and some hay
There have been a few poos too - teeny tiny ones but at least they are looking more normal.
She also stamped her little feets at me when I put her back after the metacam.
Touchwood then that she is properly on the mend.
Thank you for all the vibes and kind words. Poorly buns are so stressful
