Driving myself mad
Tonight I have been trying to train Molly and Junior to jump up and down from the sofa on command. They jump up whenever the feel like it and I would like to be able to get them down easily when they are clambering all over visitors
I'm tired of the sound of my own voice! OH went through to the kitchen
"Up. Up. Up. Up."
"Good girl. Good boy."
"Down. Down. Down. Down."
"Good boy. Good girl."
"Up. Up. Up. Up."
Over and over and over and over...

Re: Driving myself mad
I find that stroking without offering noms is normally enough to persuade the rabbits to get off the sofa.

They are getting it I left it for about 15 mins after we had finished and treats were gone and I said "up" and they jumped up!! I was too busy being impressed to remember about the "down" bitKatieb wrote:Are they getting it though?

I have no idea what you mean by the bit in bold
Junior yes, Molly, no. She doesn't give two hoots! She's right in your face sometimes, and others she's on the back of the sofa with her nose in your earcheryl'n'bruce'flo wrote:I find that stroking without offering noms is normally enough to persuade the rabbits to get off the sofa.

Ah! I think you're right!
Not too bad actually, I was breaking them up really small so they thought they were being spoiled, but they weren't really

Re: Driving myself mad
My bunnies used to jump up next to me when I was on the sofa to scrounge for food. I have never had a bun who will jump up and stay there, it must be lovely.

Re: Driving myself mad
I wish I could teach Nibbler how to join me on the sofa! He just comes up to me, sits at my feet looking up asking for cuddles, even though he knows if he jumps up he'll get nose rubs. He does jump up sometimes for them and it's the nicest feeling on the world having him sat on your knee for a cuddle, but I just wish he wouldn't insist on me getting on the floor! I suppose for me it's nicer to be sat back and for him to join me, but he prefers the stability of the floor so wants me to get down!
