Horrible news about my Opal :(

As you may know all my bunnies are away being bonded at the moment.
My Opal [The last of my original bunnies] had EC so they were all on a 28 panacur course which didnt seem to make much differnce to Opals head tilt

Laura has today taken a blood test and it shows her kidneys are in the very advance stages of failure meaning she may have just days until her body shuts down and she starts to suffer.

I have to decide now if she is to be put to sleep sooner rather than later..I dont want her suffering

Opal is the last of my original 4, 2 of which died mysteriously within a few weeks of each other....and my poor old boy Charlie who was put to sleep a couple weeks ago.

Oh so very sorry we have had two rabbit's over the years that have gone into kidney failure and we had them put to sleep sooner than later it's the kindest
thing you can do for them.

Im not sure wether to bring her back home or not, she is happy at Lauras at the moment and I dont know wether to stress her out by bringing her back for maybe a very short time or just to let Laura do what needs to be done.
I trust Laura completely.

I dont know if I can face loosing another bun, finding 2 of my babies passed away in their shed and having Charlie put down recently and completely breaking down in the vets....

One of the downsides of having multiple buns is the fact that you seem to go through phases where they are poorly (or pass away) in close succession. You do end up wondering just how you are going to cope with the next crisis. But you also get long periods where they are all healthy and well and make you smile constantly. Humum thinks the balance is firmly on the positive side. It is just horrible, but you will do what is best for Opal and you will manage to carry on even if for a while it all feels completely cruddy. I bet Opal has had a fabulous life with you and would tell you that she can look back on it without regrets.

Opal is gone :'(

She was put to sleep gently at 8.25pm.
Laura was with her, and gave her the injection and said she just slipped away very peacefully.
She had eaten loads of veggies this afternoon so was happy.
