My poor little pudding! Empty My poor little pudding!

Post by SarahJane Thu Nov 29, 2012 12:20 pm

Yesterday I went into the conservatory, and usually I say "Hello Domino" (Hello mister, hello pudding, hello fatty bum HAHA) but last night I didnt. He went beserk, started running into everything and was so scared, because I forgot to say hello Sad

I managed to calm him down, but he started head wobbling, and he fell over. When he is calm, he is generally quite okay, but he just doesn't know what to do when he gets frightened. We have decided he is going to be a house bunny in the new house which makes me happy. At the moment he is in the conservatory, all alone. I cant spend lots of time with him as the whole thing is full of stuff for moving, and hes not happy if I bring him indoors very much as he doesnt know where he is.

So when we are in the new place, we can open up his space and he can come out to free range, but he knows where his base is. But it does make me sad, I feel a bit heartbroken really.

I don't like to think of him on his own all the time, hes never ever been alone. At 14 weeks he had Pebbles, and now hes nearly six years old, and suddenly alone.

Mum made a point that in reality, is he going to have a long life, that upset me but shes probably right. His eyesight seems to get worse a little bit every week, and god knows what damage has been done inside him. So she said we should just make him comfy indoors, hes happy, and how long we get is how long we get.

I do love that ickle pudding though. .... And you know you will all get LOADS of updates if hes indoors!

Oh bless him. I guess his most important needs are routine and security, alongside the love and care of course. It must be awful for you to see him on his own but you are doing the right thing by him at the moment. Please give him a snuggle from me, and also one for the very beautiful Jelly who I have not seen any pictures of in a long time.

Huge hugs for you Hugs Hugs Hugs

Oh what a shame and it's so upsetting for you to see as well Hugs Hugs

He will be much better as a house bun and he will feel more secure and happier I think Smile

Oh poor little Domino, send him a snuggle from me! Hugs

I think everyone else is right. The sooner he's indoors the better - and keeping a routine, structure and familiar life for him is key (which I know you will do already as the brilliant owner that you are!).

I know I havent taken photos of the girls for AGES, its the weather, I cant sit out there with them when its this cold, it makes my joints seize up! Will have to get some of them soon though Very Happy

Thanks everyone, hes a happy little guy, and i cant complain as his quality of life is really good considering how poorly he was.

I'm glad he can be an indoor bunny! He'll feel nice and cozy in the cupboard. You could have part of your worktop as a 'roof' for part of his area. With his eyesight failing he should be on the one level. he'll do fine.

Oh bless his little heart!!

I have to talk to my two as I walk down the shed. Tigger is fine as she can hear me but with Jeeves' loppy lugs he can't hear much so if I just open the door he goes berserk - but at least he can see better than poor Domino.

When he's inside I can imagine he will be so much happier and won't be alone.

He is a very lucky Pudding to be so loved and so well cared for.

What is important isnt whether he is with his girls, its the overall love and care he is getting - and he has it by the truckload.

Sending him oodles of love x
