Hector being accident prone again
He jumped out of my arms when I was standing (I'm 5'3" so he jumped roughly 4ft) and landed like SPLAT on the floor, but landed the right way up perfectly on his feet (how I do not know) he hopped around a bit afterwards so I know he hasn't hurt his legs, but he's been a bit quiet since, I'm worried he's hurt his tummy or his ribs, is there anything I can do to check?

Make sure he eats and drinks fine, could maybe gentle massage his body to see if anything makes him react, just a thought, if still concerned tomorrow maybe a wee check up at vet will assure you hes ok. We have had a few near misses, floppy climbed on my shoulder then went to jump off my back, so I dropped down so he wouldnt have far to go, hurt myself but he was fine.

Re: Hector being accident prone again
He's a right pain, always getting into mischief He is always very good and waits for me to crouch and put him on my lap before he jumps off.
His back seems ok at the moment, he's periscoping for his hay and he did a lap around his cage when I brought the fresh stuff up, I will keep a close eye on him though. I'm thinking maybe he scared himself and that's why he was flopped

Just keep an eye, you'll have a natural instinct if something is wrong

Vibes for Hector, I'm sure he will be okay
Our Rosie went over Hudad's shoulder and straight down to the floor at the vets once (no better place to do it, I suppose ) and she shocked herself a bit but was fine.

Re: Hector being accident prone again
You do need to be watchful with such a mischief.
Like Sparky's Rosie, Flo has been straight over my shoulder at the vets, she has even ended up on top of the light box for the xrays before. She will elap at anything if she thinks there is a view or hidey hole to be gained. I think her current feet problems stemmed from a bit of back pain probably caused by landing badly when attempting on of these leaps. I have tried everything to block her path to these places she likes to go but she still manages to get up there, so now I just make it as safe as possible for her to go there. She also occasionally goes spalt from my arms but mostly I have learnt to cope with her wrigglyness. The vet and nurses find it very funny when Flo is going mad when they are trying to look at her feet and I just remain very calm and hoick her back into line again.

Silly Hector! He may be suffering from species confusion. Explain to him that he is not a cat. Rory thinks he is a dog sometimes.....as did my son when he was 5.

As much of a baby that my Binky Boo is, if we need to give him medicine or or anything, he turns into ninja bun. I think all our pets are confused as to who they are sometimes as they do seem to copy each others' behaviour.
