Helen's at the vet's this morning at 11:30 am we don't know what she has done but her left eye is awful it's very very bloodshot and her eyelid is slightly
swollen Mike bathed it last night and gave her some Metacam he didn't take her to the emergency vet's as the roads were like ice and he didn't want to
chance it or take Helen and Baby Saint out in the cold so late at night.
We think she may have bumped it or got something sharp like a piece of branch that could have been in the hay in it.
It look's so bad Sad

Mike's just set off with them both now as the vet's is in Sunderland. Although Helen appears to be alert and eating we don't think she can see out of that eye as she has been stood in one place all the time and is a bit jumpy when you approach which isn't Helen.
Poor Baby Saint has had to go to as Helen would play up without her but that means that when she comes back she will be all disorientated and worked up.

I will let you know what it is as soon as I know.

Mikes just rang me they are keeping her in Crying or Very sad they are going to give her a light sedation and have a good look at her eye and in her mouth. They think it's
inflammation of the iris and if it is with us catching it so early they can treat it with eye drops but if it is bad she could lose her eye Shocked Crying or Very sad
Please no! she has suffered enough in her short life.

Now I am worrying about Helen with a light sedation and Baby Saint who will wonder where she is and be going round in circles as she will be all worked up
and at times without her Mummy Crying or Very sad

Still not heard nothing Sad we have never been parted from them this long and we always worry more about them being the way they both are. Helen doesn't trust anyone and will bite and if she is parted from Baby Saint she get's so worked up and annoyed, I just want them home and it's so cold out and trying to snow again Sad

If they are coming home I would guess there's nothing desperate to worry about - at least they are not stuck at the vets if we really do get a foot of snow tonight.

Lots and lots of vibes for Helen Hugs Hugs Hugs

Well they are on their way home but it's not great news Sad

Her eye is very very bad and she has ulceration to her iris the vet said the cause of this can be Pasteurella or E.cuniculi and she has a bag of medicines/eye drop's Mike said to take and put in her eye, she has also got to go on Panacur for a month so we shall Panacur them both. There is a chance she may lose her eye but the vet want's to see the infammation go down first and see how's she goes on her medication.

I just don't want Helen to suffer much as she has suffered enough and she has enough to cope with, with her twisted spine and hernia and yet she still is an amazing Mummy to Baby Saint and look's after her in a way we could never. I feel so sad that this has happened to her Crying or Very sad

Aww poor Helen that sounds horrible. I am glad it isn't anything more serious.

With the excellent care she gets from you and Mike, I am hopeful that she will recover. xx
