Molly and Junior are terrified of the one I have so I'm looking for the kind that would be least "scary" for them. It doesn't matter if that means it'll take longer, getting anywhere near them with it would be a step in the right direction!!

I've just done the damp hands approach, and they didn't love that either Rolling Eyes

Laughing I haven't! Do you think it'd actually remove any fur?

I wish I could get a hold of them to hold them down Laughing

I kind of distracted them with pineapple juice last night but they were still not happy!! Maybe a few pellets is the way to go! Thanks!

I have this and both my buns love being brushed! http://www.petsathome.com/shop/puppy-brush-by-pets-at-home-28357

I tend to sit on the floor and let them come to me asking for strokes, so I then sit and stroke them so they are happy and cosy, then when they settle and curl up while I'm striking them I then bring out the brush, alternating a stroke with the brush and a stroke with my hand! They lay there and purr away! They usually get grumpy if I stop!!

The brush looks good!

Unfortunately they don't come for strokes, but I'm going to give the bit in bold a bash anyway!! Thanks Smile

I've got one of them and my buns hate it! It's brilliant at getting rid of lots of fur in a big moult because they have a rubbery side but I'm not sure if it pulls their fur a bit which makes it unpleasant for them. However give it a try, they sell them down here in trago for about £2.50 so if you want one but can't find one cheap, PM me and I can get one and post it to you.

We have this one and it's quite good also for getting fur off, baby brushes are lovely and soft and are good for getting them use to a brush but when it comes to getting fur off they are no good.

I am fighting a losing battle tonight with Surrey Simon, he also hates being brushed and he has no front teeth so he can't bite me but when I brush his back end he growls and try's to bite me Laughing Laughing then he run's off. He think's I have given up but no way when it's time for him to go in his indoor hutch for his tea I am taking him in the kitchen and going to brush him again Laughing Laughing

Mojo has a double-sided brush - one side with bristles and one side with teeth. I used to use the teeth to comb through his matts and the bristles afterwards - before I gave up the grooming and chopped off all his hair instead! Rolling Eyes Pellets also used to work quite well for getting him to sit still.

Willow will have a brush with the bristled side when she is moulting Thumbs Up

I picked up a baby brush in asda on Friday and they are tolerating it. Obviously it's not as good as a "proper" brush but it is def making a difference. I'm going to carry on with it for a while and then see if I can progress to a better one.

I can't believe how much fur is coming off of Molly Shocked

Thank you for the offer though, Lizzi Wave

I have a small animal baby type brush but its far too small, I might try a bigger one like the puppy one, but then again they might get scared of it. Hmm!

I was actually going to update this thread tonight Very Happy

I have persisted with the baby brush every night this week and it has been doing a not too bad job, better than nothing anyway! BUT last night, I managed to get near them with the brush they were terrified of this time last week cheers

They still don't love it, and I only got to do a minute or so each, but I'm just amazed they didn't flip out!!

We will get there in the end Very Happy

Ahh that's good to hear!! cheers

I guess a brush could be quite scary and odd to them if their not used to it, especially if its quite large! Baby steps seem to be the way forward! May the progress continue!! Smile

I don't even thing it's that scary. It's not a monster brush or anything Laughing

I'm kicking myself now for not getting them use to it when they were babies Rolling Eyes

To be honest you could have gotten them used to it when they were babies, but as soon as they hit their teenage years they wouldn't tolerate it anymore! Tigger did that, it was like a light switch! Laughing

Binky, whilst being a loving bunny, does not like being administered to at all whether it is brushing, giving medicine or claw cutting. He turs into ninja bun with a vengeance LOL!!
