Our trip to Sweden (lots of photos, sorry)
This was the first house we stayed in. It was in the Swedish mountains and had a lovely view down to the village in the valley:
We found a moose skull in the forest:
(but did not see any moose...)
Here's a view from the highest road in Sweden:
And some reindeer we saw up there:
We went for some lovely walks, here are some impressions:
A dwarf birch:
Typical mountain birch forest:
Pretty flowers:
A baby lemming:
The river near our house:

We made a daytrip to Röros in Norway, a Unesco world heritage site. We had a private tour of the old copper mine and then walked around the old mining town.

Re: Our trip to Sweden (lots of photos, sorry)
This is the house we stayed in during the second week. There was the main house with two bedrooms, and the guest house with another 4 beds. It was just above a lake in the middle of Sweden. We just walked down through a gate and got to our own dock, which had a boat, a sauna and lots of water toys. The water was quite shallow and therefore very safe for the kids. It was only 18 celsius, so I only went in once. Brrrr! But it does get warmer in June and July.
The view from our house towards the lake. There were a few other houses nearby, but most of them were not occupied while we were there:
Evening impressions, peace and quiet:

They are!!! The full name of this one is Norway lemming, and it gets about 4 to 6 inches big. This baby was only about 2 inches and very cute.

Actually most houses in the mining town are still occupied. There are flower pot outside the doors, and pretty little curtains in the windows. The main streets are full of little shops. It is amazing. And it can get very cold there in winter, with lots of snow. The snow makes the old houses look even prettier. Just that you can't see the grass roofs then.

I am sitting here blubbing !!
I have so many lovely memories of holidays in Sweden. We had some wonderful friends there and it is where I spent the last holiday with my Mum before she died.
I adore Sweden and if I could move there I would.
Fantastic pics BB !!

You could get a lovely big house there for your money, too. I keep watching the property market for certain areas of Sweden. My dream is to someday own a house there. My dad bought a property with two houses, right by a lake, but quite far north. I have not been there yet, maybe next summer.
Have you lost contact to your friends in Sweden?

Well, you know that there will always be some plants in my photos!
I will need your advice some time soon, about what to do with our garden. So be prepared for some questions.
