Aww, I'm so glad you've got him safely tucked up. He would have been very vulnerable in the garden wouldn't he.
Bless him, and you guys. Fingers crossed he'll be ok after a bit of rest.

Update 10:25 pm
He hasn't eaten much but at the moment he is right at the back of his pet carrier roosting for the night. He has stayed calm and we have kept him in a quiet place with the light off. I hope he will be ok and still be with us tomorrow morning.
Mikes besotted with him.

Re: Jacob the Jackdaw / Update May 2nd :-)
Update Sunday 12:26 pm
Well he had a good roost last night he obviously needed the rest and he had eaten all the chicken , corned beef and cheese that we put in so we have refilled his dish this morning. He look's alert and we are taking him down to the Wildlife Haven at Thirsk later today, they will have a look at his wing and see if it can be splinted if it can't......
So could Jacob the Jackdaw have lot's of 'can be mended' Vibes for his wing please, and if she can mend it we will be collecting him when he's better and releasing him back in our garden as all the Rook's, Crows and Jackdaws roost in the big tree's behind our home.

Update 18:37 pm
Just got back now from Thirsk dropped Jacob off at the Wildlife Haven and what a lovely lady and what a great job they do and they are struggling to stay open. Didn't see the otter cub as he was throwing a strop and hid himself under a blanket as she wouldn't let him run round the house, but saw a beautiful owl sat in the clinic room and a duck with half his bill missing. Lots of hedgehogs all covered up all snug and some racing pigeons.
Anyway she had a look at Jacob and she said he was only young maybe last year's baby and although his coat was shiny he was very underweight, she had a look at his poorly wing and she said it was very very swollen on one of the joint's and so she think's it could be a fracture and that's one of the worse places to have them but with it being so swollen she couldn't tell so she was going to start him on some meds to get the swelling down and then she would know more, she then placed him in an incubator. I've asked her if we could ring or email to see how he goes on, she asked me had I named him as she names all the animals that come in and I said yes we have called him Jacob.
They do such a wonderful job as it's all kinds of wildlife and wild bunnies and hares and Mike has offered to drive anything in this area to them if needed or be a stop over for the night.
A lovely lovely lady.

Re: Jacob the Jackdaw / Update May 2nd :-)
Update Monday 12:34pm
Just text Krista at the Wildlife Haven to see how Jacob is doing and she said he is doing very well and has eaten everything so that's nice to hear, I hope they will be able to fix Jacob
and he will one day be able to fly again. That would be so rewarding.

Aww it's lovely that they're keeping you updated. It's fantastic what they do.
I think Jackdaws are lovely, we have two that nest in our unused chimney every year. I can hear them walking across my bedroom ceiling early in the morning

Re: Jacob the Jackdaw / Update May 2nd :-)
Jacob is doing fine Krista told us and he has a dislocation to his shoulder so can never go back to the wild but he it at a friends at the moment who has an aviary and she hopes he will eventually be going to another friend who has a huge aviary for flying birds and they have a couple of Jackdaws and so Jacob will be going there to live with the other Jackdaws in the aviary
Krista was shocked to hear about the Blackbird fledgling that we found and said that is far to early for it to be born as it's still cold and one of the earliest she has heard of yet being born this year.
