Found a stray rabbit - Beardwood, Blackburn

The hu-parents have just been out and rounded up a stray rabbit who was quite happily lolloping around one of the greens on the estate.

They've brought him home and popped him in a 'spare' run for now in the hope that someone comes looking for him. Hudad is busy making the roof for the run, which was in the process of being made ready for Reggie, and they have a small spare hutch they can pop in for overnight shelter.

Humum's posted on a few FB pages and if nothing by tomorrow will register him as found with the RSPCA and our vets.

She has piccies but won't post them yet as anyone wanting to claim him will have to prove he belongs to them. She says he is very, very cute though

Poor bun. Did the huparents spot the bun or were they alerted by someone who thought it must be one of theirs?

He is so very lucky you found him, please let us know if anyone claims him, the poor little love.

He seemed like quite a happy bun, hopping around and nomming grass, a bit too close to a busy road though. There was a little boy watching and Humum asked if it was his rabbit and he said no but that he saw it out there quite often. I wonder if it was like Poirot, who always came home for dinner

Maybe he's poirots friend from when she/he used to get out!!!!! I can't remember if poirot is a boy or girl,

I want to see a pic!!! Will he be staying if his owners aren't found?

If you post pics in the member section then only members would see him. I think you know all the members buns in your area!

I already have that reputation and I only have 2 buns so I can only imagine what the locals think of the Wood household!

He's too young to be one of Poirot's old chums. She  is 2 1/2 and he's only a youngster. Humum had a rummage  and is pretty sure he is a he but only a young one. She says it would be more convenient if he's a she as we're top-heavy on boys and she doesn't think I'd accept Theo back. If he is still here on Monday she'll pop him in to the vet to be checked for a microchip and get a second opinion on gender.

could it be you were alerted as you have rabbits and the owners just dont want him thinking you would take him?

The person who told us is a builder we vaguely know, whose parents live round the corner. He'd been visiting them and spotted the bun out on the green. If it was theirs he would have just brought it round  

He's such a young bun that he can't have been with his owners all that long, so I hope they'd not got just fed up of him.

Hoping that a very loving family will be so overjoyed that you have found their bunny...unless you wanna keep him!

No news yet. Hudad has a suspicion of who *it* may live with but a person from that family saw him and humum walking down the road with carriers yesterday and made no attempt to find out what was going on round the back of their house. Hudad thinks this person may have already known that the bun was loose if you catch my drift, but then hudad is a cynical so-and-so.

if this is the case and it may bot be but if it is they do not deserve him and obviously do not care. I hope that he came froma nice family and not the ones you suspect and hope Hudad is wrong about it being theirs.

Are you adopting him if nobody claims him?

How is the little love today? if he is will you though I know he will be fine.

He is definitely a he, and he's not microchipped.

Humum drove round where he was found looking for posters on lamp-posts, and there's no sign of anyone hunting for him. The thing is that is where three different estates come together, with the backs of houses all onto the same road. So he could be from quite a wide area, and people might think to knock on doors locally but not so much round the back  

Our vet have his details now, Humum is going to phone the other local vet and the RSPCA. Then it'll just be a waiting game...

He's doing fine, seems quite happy living in his pen with his little shelter. As it's looking increasingly likely that he'll be here beyond the weekend, the hu-parents are sorting him out slightly better accommodation and then Reggie can also have her run back.

Someone at Humum's work is being pestered by her daughters (8 and 9 years old) for a rabbit. The first thing Humum said is 'you can't have a rabbit, you have to have two rabbits'  but if they do decide to have buns they have excellent accomodation (an outside dog kennel and run) and the kids have been made to look after one of their existing pets for the last month to prove they can be responsible, so Humum is hoping things might fall into place there. Humum says they are nice kids, and she doesn't much like kids, as a rule

We KNOW your Huparents Sparky! We KNOW how much they love bunnies. We KNOW they would never release the bunny to anyone that they didn't have confidence in to be responsible bunny slaves. So. Again. I. Ask. Chosen a name yet?

Oooo perhaps they can bond him with a rescue girlie and get them in a lip overly new home??????
