Eating vibes for Spring.
Yesterday afternoon I took Gabe and Spring across to Spring's rescue centre. Thet were holding a rabbit awareness afternoon with vet checks and reduced cost vaccinations. As the buns are all due vaccs I decided to take advanatage of this.
It all turned out to be very stressful for Gabe and Spring, too long in the car and carrier and it took Spring a couple of hours to perk up when we got back home. She did tuck into her tea and supper and seemed back to normal.
This morning she has refused breakfast and looks miserable. I have given her some metacam and tummy med and hope she picks up. I hope that this is a reaction to the vaccination and nothing more. I am sure the vacc knocked Rosie for six last Easter, she ended up hospitalised and then needing a dental as she had stopped eating.
Any spare vibes would be welcome.

Re: Eating vibes for Spring.
I am so sorry hun, I do hope she picks up soon, it could be a side effect to the Vaccs , all buns react differently , I just hope she eats soon, she is probably just stressed from being in the car more than anything, Dougal used to be like this after a trip to the vets when he was a baby, it was not long in car or vets but he used to get so worked up and not eat and drink for hours, all day till later in the evening, I am sure she will once she calms down.

Oh Dear,
So it sounds like they didn't enjoy their day out?
Plenty of let's feel better soon and perk up vibes for the pair.
Some fenugreek or beetroot crunchies may help to lift the spirits

Re: Eating vibes for Spring.
Thank you for the vibes and hugs. When I went out to change their litter trays Spring seemed a lot brighter and accepted some dried cranberries from me. I left her nibbling some hay
Hopefully when I get back home at tea time she will be fully back to normal. That is fenugreek crunchie time of the day!
The panic I feel every time one of them is 'off' doesn't get any less

The same here. Don't know what happened over night but Bubbles is skittish like hell and managed a sal to backwards out of my arms giving me a heart attack and her 20 minutes of attention and observation to make sure she hasn't hurt herself. Seems fine

Re: Eating vibes for Spring.
I hope she is ok hun, glad she has perked up. I hope that by tonight she is having a proper munch.
I know it sounds mad, but Daisy actualy goes on Hunger strike after something has annoyed/upset him. I swear he only does it because he knows how much it worries me. The reason I think this is because he is eating....only pretending he cant possibly manage a bite when im looking. Could it be something similar? A post event sulk?

Re: Eating vibes for Spring.
Aw, I'm glad she's had a nibble.
Molly wasn't herself after her last combi jab either. She wouldn't eat, was just lying around and one of her ears was even down for the evening!!!
Unless I'm just mad too

I don't think it sounds mad The last thing I want to do when I'm really peed off is eat.Katieb wrote:I know it sounds mad, but Daisy actualy goes on Hunger strike after something has annoyed/upset him.

Re: Eating vibes for Spring.
Thank you all. I am happy to say that Spring seems back to normal I guess either the vacc and/or stress involved was to blame.
The threesome are due their vaccinations too - more potential stress
Katie, how do you cope with Daisy on 'hunger strike' The monster

Re: Eating vibes for Spring.
Glad to hear that they are back to normal!?
Managed to get the dates right on the two for vaccination so they can go to the vet together. And being booked for check up whilst rabbit awareness week between 10-18 mayos ok. I think hat any vaccination will have effect on their moods and systems but needs must.

So glad to hear that she is back to normal bless her.
I use to worry myself silly, but now I give him a syringe feed, and leave his fave foods laying about. Such a little monster.
