About bloody time indeed. Buns need protecting a lot more, just as any other animal does.

Thanks for sharing. I liked the article as it was facts over myths and emotions.
How many times do you talk to your bunny.
I look forward to the result of this!
I natter constantly to them.
They may say oh hunmum just shut up!

I always talk to Dougal and sometimes Ste will go pardon and I go, just talking to Dougal . Dougal looks at me as if he understands , it is so funny but sometimes he looks as if to say crazy hoomin my mummy is.
I do not agree that bunnies cannot be happy on their own though, Dougal is a only bun brat and he is one of the binkiest, happiest little troopers I have seen and he has plenty of love and plenty of things to do and way more attention that I give anyone else, including poor Ste. Sparky's humum can vouch for me on that. He has 2 big warrens too, warren 1 is his very own, warren two he allows us hoomins to share . Plus the landing, which his well it could be considered small warren 3. Not to mention all the things he has and all the noms too, and all this to himself.

Re: Bunnies have some media exposure at last
My bun comes up to me and stares with a "you're crazy" stare when I talk to him. Unless I say "food time" then he stands up against me or follows me depending how close to the food source we are.
I'm going to look to get a bun friend once I'm back from hols but I must say, Humphrey seems very happy as he is. I'm not sure how he will cope when someone else is vying for affection and food!

Re: Bunnies have some media exposure at last
This is a fab article
I personally think single buns are ok as long as they are inside and getting lots of human attention. Willow lived very happily as a single bun for a while, but when I started running out of time to give her attention I got her Mr Mo as a husbun and they are so happy together. I think in this case advising to keep a pair is the right thing to do as the majority of people who keep bunnies probably still keep them in hutches outside.

I agree in that sense hun for sure and have always said to Ste , if I cannot give him as much attention as I can now in the future. Which I doubt I wouldn't be able to but you never know then we would rescue a wifey bun for him. I know it is best if they are in a hutch as it is unfair to keep one in a hutch lonely.
