Vibes please for Holly

Hello my friends

May we please have some vibes for our little Holly? When we got up this morning her little left eye was completely closed and looked very sore. She wouldn't come anywhere near us which just isn't like her. Paul took her to the vet who has prescribed metacam and eye drops. She said we were right to bring her because she took her down the corridor and gave her a slight local anetthetic so she could have a proper look at the eye. She said it was very red and she didn't like the look of it and we are to watch it closely, which we would do anyway. If the eye turns blue, we are to take her down straight away. Another problem is, she hates being administered to and she is going to get wise to it as she has to have her medication twice a day. We have some lovely orange juice to mix with the metacam so it is more palatable.

There is a possibility that she could lose her eye, but Li said it was unlikely.

As for the metacam, you may find that easy to give to Holly. It has a lovely sweet honey taste - yes I have tried it. Gabriel is on a daily dose and can't wait for his morning fix. He almost pulls the syringe out of my hand to get at it.

Oh Sixer, that sounds adorable. I must admit I didn't know metacam tasted good. Despite being very friendly in one way, in others she is a very spooked nervous bunny and getting her to take her meds and eye drops twice a day is a nightmare. I just hope she doesn't stop coming up to me when it is all over. Keeping a close watch on that eye, so far so good.

I am not sure adorable is the word I would you use to describe Gabriel and his metacam addiction He gets his dose first thing in the morning and is sat by the door on his back legs waiting for me to offer him the syringe and gets somewhat grunty if I am a bit slow. He has turned into a metacam monster!

Getting other medicine into him or the other bunnies is nowhere near as easy so I understand how you feel about Holly. I am pleased to read that her eye seems to be doing well and am sending more healing vibes xx

Thank umy darlngs for all your kind posts and I am glad to say that Holls is much better today. She let Paul put the drops in her eye this morning whilst she was sitting on the sofa, When it came to the liquid medicine however, there was a bit of a struggle. Anyway, we are getting there I think thank goodness. Thank you so much for all your loving vibes.

Thank you for asking darlings, she is really so much better. It has been the devil's own job to give her her medication but what a difference, I think the poor ittle love was really feeling off but now she is springing around as she usually does.

Thank you my Angels fr your kind notes; she is much better but I am still a little worried aboout her eye. If it is no better once she has completed the course of meds, she will go back for another check up.
