Henners at vets ...
He's there overnight.
Why?
Because I bought a new rabbit ornament (one of those life like resin garden/house ornaments) and when I showed it to him he tried to ....er, rape it!
He mounted, humped and squealed and it was off to the vets as fast as I could get him there.
He's injured his little willy! How? The vet thinks he cut it on a sharp(ish) ridge on the model buns scut. I dread it if I have to do any home treatments.
He's neutered but it seems even doctored buck rabbits keep their brains in a similar place to fellas.

Oh poor Henners.
Do you think this will teach him? I guess you are right with their brains. Oh and I hope the home treatment will be lots of metacam and treats. Bless his little heart. Sending vibes for him . And you!

Re: Henners at vets ...
He's been home just over an hour.
Metacam on carrot crunchers and no hay in his tray. I've put his tray under a dining cahir and rigged a bundle of hay to hang from a spell.
His vet lives a few miles along the road from us and he's going to call in to check on him tomorrow midday on his way home from surgery. He gave him an examination under light sedation yesterday and found what he likened to a tiny paper-cut. Nothing serious, but rather uncomfortable and to be watched in case of infection.... and definitely not to be poked by hay in his tray.
Maybe he will be more of a gentlebun from now on.

Re: Henners at vets ...
Hmm, maybe I should look for an inflatable one next time.... ?!
The offending object .... model bun, not Henners or his injured bit .... is now well out of bunny reach.
And Henners himself is doing fine. His vet called, as promised, at lunch time and checked everything was doing well; it was/is. He doesn't think he will need to see him again but said to keep an eye on him over the coming week. He's got metacam until Monday when the vet thinks it will be all healed.
I can hardly believe he did what he did ... he was so quick, I put the bun down, said, "What do you think of her then?" and he was "at it". No warning, a case of Wham-bam .... ouch, damn!

Inflatable one makes sense. Usually they don't have sharp parts!

Re: Henners at vets ...
That's right Jo ... I'm Dee. Never been Cheryl ......
Yes, Henry is okay again. He's had two days of cuddles with me while it rained and rained and rained.
Must say, he was a bit thrown when the vet VISITED HIM yesterday; I got the impression he doesn't feel safe anywhere anymore, not even in his own home.

Oh, he's fully recovered. I caught him humping the draught excluder at tea time!
And he's neutered for goodness sakes!

Claudia: I've given him a cuddly bun that Loll had and Riley before him. He's shredded it's ears and one front leg is now all wonky!
He seems so full of himself these days.

Not too sure he's okay now; not after tonight. He ventured into the bathroom and saw his mum starkers!
