He's at it again....
Moulting!
I thought I noticed a tell tale moult stripe across his nose a couple of weeks ago, and some golden tinges along his flanks. Now there are smears of belly fur appearing on carpets and rugs.
Oh, sugar it ... I hate moults

Oh dear hun, I know what you mean. Holly being a Rex does not shed too much but I have had long haired buns in the past and it has been a trial. They seem to be so unhappy too which is what really upsets us.

I feel your pain. There is currently masses of grey hair floating around on our slate tiles. It's not a good look and a thankless task when cleaning it up

I was laughing last night. Vernon is in a major moult that left him looking like a a punk in 1982. He had a strain of fluff on top of his his head andmwasntmimpressed by my reaction.
I will try to get a photo but think Bubbles helped out a little bit and the irocase has gone.

Re: He's at it again....
I worry so about hair balls. And this moult (his last was in Feb/March time) he is not eating as much hay as I'd like. He used to be a hay-monster but then he discovered the variety of wild forage he could persuade me to gather and it took over number one position. I've stopped the wild forage now, and I'm hoping he will rediscover the yumminess of the six varieties of hay I am providing. I know he could be down a bit after his vaccination last week and the hot weather too but a moult is the last straw.

Re: He's at it again....
Vernon has slowed down in eating. Anything. Greens, Hay treats.
I brush him daily which he initially disapproves for about 45 seconds and than surrenders because ahhh that's nice mum. His poos are fine so I'm not to worried.
But having as evere moult in a heat wave can't be an easy task for any bun.

Re: He's at it again....
I've been telling Henry all about the uses of Supa Glu ... he now believes it's specifically designed to stick back straying fur and I told him I've added a tube to my shopping list for this week.
He, too, loves a good brushing or even a combing. He is a big old softie when it comes to being "caressed" in any manner. He even loves to be cuddled in my travel rug on cool evenings.

He sounds adorable Woodwench love, my Holly is a snuggler and there is nothing like it. She sleeps on my bed and sometimes I wake up and she is on her side in the crook of my arm.

Re: He's at it again....
Jo: I can't imagine ever letting Henry sleep on my bed... at least not while I'm in it. I am a very restless sleeper and toss and turn, albeit rather slowly and creakily, and I could squash him. Then there's his new found hobby of humping anything handy!
