Neutering ? Empty Neutering ?

Post by Lola_Lotta Tue Sep 23, 2008 9:08 am

Hi everyone,

Have been having a think about Lola and Lotta and wondered if I should be getting them neutered ?

They are about 3 months old, what age can you have them done and do you think it is worthwhile ?

Thoughts and opnions greatly appreciated. Also does anyone know the rough cost of this ?

Many thanks

They can usually be speyed at 6 months however some more experienced vets will neuter once a doe reaches 1kg in weight (are they both female?). It can cost between £45 and £120 dependant on your vets, in my area it averages between £60 & £70.

It is well worth getting done and this article explains why.

I was a bit nervous about getting Tibbler done, especially since when I took her brother in for castrating he didn't survive the anaesthetic Crying or Very sad But she is so much happier now - she doesn't have any trouble with her hormones or phantom pregnancies or anything anymore. It cost £60 but I think it was worth every penny.
