Evo is poorly again :(

I took him for his VHD yesterday morning, and he was fine when I went out, but got back 2 hours later and he was poorly. The usually not eating etc. Took him back for meds last night (Zantac & metacam - I didn't realise he hadn't had any metaclopramide until I'd looked at the receipt this morning). I syringe fed him, but his was just dribbling most of it back out. He had some sharp bits on his teeth - so I don't know if the feeling under the weather from the VHD has brought on his teeth symptoms sooner than normal (he was 100% before the vhd), or if it's not his teeth or coincidence or what. I have left him with the vets and they're going to look at his teeth, and do fluids etc.

Please can I have some vibes for him?

They've just called me and his tummy is worse than last time he was admitted. I feel so s**t, it's all my fault for taking him for his VHD when I know he reacts badly to it.

Its not your fault!! You are trying to protect him from a deadly infection!!

It's not your fault at all, you had no idea this was going to happen and were just being a responsible bunny mummy. It does make me wonder about his immune system though.....there must be something going on in his little body.

Cylap - he's normally quiet for a day after, but never stops eating etc.

I just asked because it's seen to have more side effects and if it knocks him normally and he was already under the weather then it might well have just brought on an underlying issue.

They have just phoned me back - he had to have a tube down into his tummy to release the gas. I am really worried about him - the vet nurse that phoned didn't sound too positive.

Oh Laura, So sorry to read this Its absolutely dreadful when they are in the vets & you arent with them, Im usually a big mess...Hoping so much that Evo pulls through again this time. HUGS to you both xxx

The vet has rung me - there's no improvement, but they've made him comfy for the night. I've got to ring in the morning.

Poor Evo
I'm pleased they managed to intubate him though, he should feel more comfy now, and it can be a tricky procedure so he must be in good hands to have carried it out successfully.

I always think of Evo whenever i see my two's cardbouard castle... wierd isn't it ( i remember seeing his little ouse with EVO on it and thinking Evo was an ace name.
