Do rabbits drink a lot when they are hungry?
McQueen never touches his hay, I have even tried putting hay in his bowl and he won’t touch it. Because he doesn’t eat hay he only eats his main meal which means he get hungry and eats anything in sight that is cardboard in the flat. He has eaten a whole cereal box. Cristobel suggested Oxbow. But this still doesn’t clear up in-between times. I can't give him pellets 5 times a day (as much as he would like) Laughing

I think he prefers dried grass but that is fatty. No

have you tired different kinds of hay? the hay experts do a little sample pack to try the different kinds. or maybe just bring him plenty of fresh grass throughout the day. Lola didn't used to eat hay but she has got much better, i just had to find her brand which i'm sorry to say is the most expensive Rolling Eyes Laughing

Where do you put the hay? I used to bunnysit a bun, the owner would always say she never ever ate hay, so I started putting it in toilet roll tubes as a sort of toy and it'd be the first thing she ate around mine, even if she had a bowl full of pellets

Have you tried mixing ready grass into hay or using a herbal hay such as Excel Herbage or Forage?

I have two dental buns who are extremely fussy and I have to mix allsorts together to get them to eat. I would also second Kirtsy's advice about the Hay Experts sample packs Smile

Have you put hay in the litter tray? That's where ours tend to eat it most. Also putting in a small fresh handful 3 times a day will renew interest in it. Very Happy

Yep tried it in a hay rack, in his food bowl, in his litter tray, mixed it with his pellets, inside a toilet tube…his not having any of it. His more interested in what I am eating. Hmmm

Mine never liked hay and I used to struggle to find anything they would eat. In the end I went with the "little and often" approach as it seems new and exciting then. I found the litter tray was the most successful place as Charlie especially would just knock the hay racks down and sit in the hay as a form of protest Laughing Although with the litter tray I had to keep changing it more often as they didn't really think and just peed all over it too No

A Vet has recommended feeding Horse Hay Pellets. They are low protein and high fibre. Not as good as hay/grass for keeping teeth in trim but better than the more fattening Rabbit Pellets. These are the ones I have just ordered
