Wild rabbits yesterday
We were cycling towards Salisbury through all these beautiful villages yesterday, and took these wild buns near Romsey
How near the road?
and these a bit nearer to home

Look at all those bunnies, I love the last picture Jay, don't they look relaxed, bit scary when you see them so close to the road though, lovely pictures

Re: Wild rabbits yesterday
They are sooo close to the cars, but I guess that they must know that the foxes etc can't get them there, so in a bizarre way, the roads and man's invasion of their habitat, have given them a protection, which is weird!

Yes, that's true, I hate it when I am driving along and they are at the roadside though

Re: Wild rabbits yesterday
Beautiful pics!
I hate it when they are at the verge, gives me heart failure sometimes
I have to drive quite a lot at night and I'm a nervous wreck when I do, I know off by heart all the bits of road that have grazing buns although I was completely surprised to see a young hare sitting smack bang in the middle of the road one time , I slammed on the brakes but it wouldn't get off the road so I sent my passenger out to chase it onto the verge, just ten seconds later a bus came speeding round the corner and, had the hare still been there, it would have copped it. Bliddy animals!!!! Apparently (don't know if it's true) hares will keep running on the road until they have access to a field gate or side road, they won't jump up onto the verge for safety.
There's a colony of 'beach buns' down at the seafront, they live in the rocks and feed on grass and seaweed. They have fantastic protection in their warrens albeit a bit damp!
We also have a big roundabout in town which had a family of buns on. I think they'd been displaced when some ground clearing work was done nearby. It's been known that a certain 'vehicle' was seen circling the roundabout several times with the occupants tossing carrot tops and spring greens out ....
