Reaction to Myxi jab

Heya, tonight when i had to bring Poppy in cause of the thunder i found a scab and a sort of lump on her head, at the top of her ear.

She had her Myxi jab on the 21st April and just wondering if it could be a reaction?

Did you notice if the vets gave the 10% intradermal dose in the base of her ear, or was it given in the scruff of her neck...

The small bit of the injection was given on the top of her head. Not exactly the spot she has the lump and scab but close. The main part was given in the scruff. xxxx

I think it's probably a small reaction to the intradermal dose, it has been noted that this dosn't always occur exactly where the vaccine was given. Keep an eye on it and if it becomes larger, inflammed or an open wound then pop her to the vets for a check-up. Usually though, these just gradually disappear over time.

Ok thankyou . Where the scab is it seems to be healing nicely and as i've not noticed it before i think it's a small reaction, was just quite scared! xxxx

My vet informed me that a small fluid filled lump or scab may appear after the myxi jab.

we vaccinate somewhere on the sides of the rabbits....
