Been AWOL

Hi Bunny friends,
I've been missing in action for about 2 months now so missed out on such alot. I just don't seem to have time to get anything done, first it was the summer hols so had 2 children to entertain, then Amelie (my 2 yr old) came down with shingles, things just seem so hectic at the moment. Anyway I really hope you and all your bunnies are doing well. If you could give me a summery as to whats been going on with each of you that would be great!

So because I've been so busy my poor fluffy baby Shadow still hasn't been neutered, he's 25 weeks now so a little overdue. I've booked him in on Wednesday and feeling a little anxious, I know it's a routine op but I still worry. He's getting big now and even more gorgeous, will get round to putting some pics up soon!

How is your daughter after the shingles? My youngest son had it when he was four and it was horrible. It was on his face and down his nose. Both is eyes closes up and it was very painful. Poor wee soul. Hope she is better.

Amelie is fine after the shingles, hers was across her chest, under her arm, in her arm pit and a little on her back. It looked vile but she coped really well with it the dr's couldn't believe how well. She did end up in a&e as my gp thought she had a secondary infection but it wasn't just a very strong virus. It's clearing up now but she's left with what I think will be a couple of scars!

I've heard when it's on the face it's awful and can be quite dangerous around the eyes! Is your little fella ok from it?

He's fully recovered now. (15 now - he had it when he was 4). He was very lucky that it didn't follow a different nerve because then it can affect your eyesight. It went down his forehead and down his nose but stopped just after the bridge. His eyes were all matted closed and he couldn't see for a few days. He slept a lot which was good, but did have a lot of pain because it follows the nerves. He has a couple of scars on the bridge of his nose. He was a bit sensitive to sunlight for a year or two and had after pains for a while, but otherwise no lasting damage.

Glad your daughter is feeling better. It's a shock when they get it so young. They thought that Christopher got infected with chicken pox when he was six weeks old (older brother was covered!), got a very mild dose and then didn't have enough immunity to fight the virus off completely and ended up with shingles.
