Hello everyone..

I have been reading the articles on this forum since a few days and I found this forum very interesting...

I have two male Giant Flemish rabbits, the first one is Leonard and the second one is Sasha..

I got Lenny home around 8th June and Sasha on 11th June, both of them are about 3 months old... I found out a day ago that Sasha is a boy, I still have to rename him... No

Here are some pics Smile

Thank you... Smile

Lenny and Sasha are house rabbits too... As of now they are under 12 inches but I expect them to grow huge soon! As of now Lenny has a 4x2 metal hutch, and Sasha has a 4.5x2 feet enclosure.. We will be shifting out of this house soon, at that time I will be getting them larger hutches.. I am potty training both of them right now, within a month I will be allowing them to roam free in the house , under supervision of course... My dogs love my rabbits, they spend a lot of time snuggling with the rabbits..

Mindy sounds very sweet, do you have any pictures of her?

P.S - Do you have any suggestions for names for Sasha?

Welcome to HH Wave

They're gorgeous bunnies! I have a giant called Bruce... I just love their faces!

Do you plan on bonding them?

We have a few gender-confused rabbits here, who were named male or female names and turned out to be the opposite! You might want to keep the name Sasha, but I'm no good with thinking of names sorry. I don't have a creative bone in my body.

Thank you Smile ... Giants are unique in their own way...

My mum insists that Sasha is a gender neutral name since she likes the name Sasha a lot...

Sasha is definitely a boy.. He has a big pepe, I had not checked his sex earlier since he was very scared for the first 3 days.. I am a little unsure about Lenny since Lenny is a month younger...

Thanks! Smile

I shall post updates every month or so...

Since I am not confident of my sexing skills, I shall continue to call the white one Sasha, but I shall keep a stand by name ready in case Sasha is really a male...

Lenny is definitely a male, he squirts all over the place, usually out of his cage .. Rolling Eyes

Sasha can be a boy or girl's name.

So your mum is right! Mum's are ALWAYS right and they ALWAYS know. (That used to freak out my kids. Laughing Laughing)

Thank you everyone .. I love this site already Smile

Snickers and Newton are the back up names in case Sasha is a boy but I am open to suggestions..

I am quite sure that Lenny is a Flemish Giant, but I have my doubts about Sasha.. Any thoughts?

I'm no good with breeds, but to me, Lenny and Sasha appear to be the same breed. I guess we can't know 100% until they're fully grown.

The shelter I adopted Bruce from thought he was a small-breed mixed bunny until he just didn't stop growing Very Happy

Is Bruce is Giant Flemish or is he another type of Giant? I love Bruce's color!

As of now all I know is that rabbits with super big ears and a semi arched back are categorized as giant Flemish...

Personally I'd keep Sasha, I quite like it for a boy bunsta Smile
If Sasha is male, his plums should've dropped by now - Have Lenny's?

Sexing is difficult, pet shop assistants are notoriously confident and usually incorrect in sexing buns, and even vets find it hard! You may need to keep these two apart soon, until you know for sure, they'll be coming into maturity now Smile

I havnt seen both their bits maybe since both of them are under 3 months old.. I am getting a doubt that Sasha is a boy since she doesnt squirt while peeing.. Lenny on the other hand squirts all over the place!

Both of them stay separately.. Sasha stays in a 4.5x1.5x1.5 enclosure where as Lenny stays in a 3x2x2 cage.. Both of them stay inside the house..

Ok Smile Although Sasha isn't spraying, doesn't mean he's a she! as they're older than 3 months, you should be able to see plums anytime soon. This is usually the only definitive way to know, so a check would be a good idea. The boys can be neutered as soon as their plums show Smile

I just have to share this, but plums are REALLY OBVIOUS when they do emerge, so you should be just fine spotting them Laughing

Bruce was abandoned so I don't know his breed, but he seems rounder and less slim/elegant than flemish giants, I suspect he is a mix between giant and something else.

Unfortunately there are no vets in my country who know how to neuter rabbits.. Most of them cant even diagnose illnesses in rabbits.. In the past I had taken my rabbit to a supposedly experienced vet.. He diagnosed acute pneumonia as a simple viral cold..

I was under the impression that only female rabbits need to be neutered but now I am a little worried.. I would hate for anything bad to happen to my rabbits...

I shall keep an eye out for plums.. BTW Sasha is aggressive, she had a scuffle with Lenny when I let them meet for less than 5 minutes.. They would stay at the store in the store together but in my home Sasha doesnt like Lenny too much... Lenny was smelling her behind and that made Sasha mad, that made me feel like maybe Sasha is a girl!
