I'll give you a laugh! Empty I'll give you a laugh!

Post by NickieM Mon Jun 21, 2010 8:19 am

Came home from a lovely meal at the restaurant and set down on the couch and got my leg up on the cushions to relax and digest.

Then the fateful words ................................

Gloria is out!! Madam had managed to get over the fence, goodness knows how (I suspect Wolfie gave her a boost up!) and was binging around the garden in total joy. OH and youngest son went out and I followed slowly on my crutches. OH gave up after a few minutes because he has NO patience so it was left to me, on crutches, and Christopher to catch her.

Luckily, she stayed in a small part of the garden and we managed to barricade her in. I put some pellets in a pop-up gardening bin and she went in and was hoisted up and over the fence again. But, oh the look!!! She was not a happy bun.

BTW she was very interested in my crutches and they got a good bit of chinning. Laughing Laughing Laughing

I love how easily brought she is with food! ha ha ha ha ha

Perhaps she had escaped only with intentions of coming and helping around the house and looking after you? She just wanted to help.

She certainly picks her time! Keep checking the kitchen window but she is contained - for now! It will be Wolfie's turn next. Wee Felix doesn't bother escaping. He's such a sweetie.

Yes Felix is a sweetie.

However, Wolfie and Gloria BOTH decided to escape last night. Discovered they have been climbing up the inside of the fence and getting up that way. Can't believe that Fat Flump managed to do it at all!!

She was caught fairly quickly by exactly the same method as the last time (so she isn't very bright either) and Wolfie was a bit harder to get which I expected.

Have had a good look at the fence today and straightened it so hopefully we won't have a repeat performance.

Way to go Gloria! It must be something in the air - I caught Herbie trying to climb out of his run when the lid had been removed.

He is also getting very sharp at busting out of his shed first thing in the morning when I am still half asleep. I was chasing him round the next door neighbour's front lawn first thing Sunday morning. Thankfully nobody was about, I had pulled on scruffy clothes and no underwear to feed the bunnies. Me bouncing around on the neighbour's immaculate lawn would not have been a pretty sight Embarassed

It goes without saying that Gabriel has had several break out moments. It is now a game for him - he goes straight back into his shed when he know he has been rumbled.

It must be summer!!! We haven't had the Incredible Escaping Bunnies this year either to stir my pair up! Frightened to go and look at the window in case they are out again. On my own with my crutches so would be stuffed if that were the case. Laughing

I sooo love naughty bun stories.

Although not so fun if you have to go chasing them on crutches!

Problem is - if they are not out at the moment....you can rest assured they are plotting!

Well they were. Went and had a check and Wolfie is sprawled on the lawn and Gloria is eating the geraniums. There is no way I can catch them on my own, so I have made sure the gates are shut and will wait until reinforcements arrive.

They have jumped up at the fence until it bent over and have used it to get over the top. OMG they are too clever for words .... well Wolfie is! Laughing

He has eaten all my cosmos daisies that I grew from seed. I know because I watched him. Grrrrr

I bet they arranged for the powers-that-be to ensure your knee was busted just so they could run around and know you were looking at them but couldn't stop them! Laughing

Hopefully their ability to escape has been stopped .... for now! OH has reinforced the top of the fencing which was flopping over. Now it is much tighter. They have looked a bit fed up today, but I am not feeling sorry for them!

You do realise that this is a mere pause in the escape attempts. You are mistaking the "fed up" look for the "formulating a cunning plan" look.

You should check the perimiter, double up on the guards, and look for tunnels...........
