Hi everyone!
Hi Guys,
I am a 21 year old veterinary student in London, and basically joined this forum in the hope you guys would be able to help me out with a project I am doing!
My project is on the size of rabbit hutches sold in pet shops and whether or not they are adequate for most common pet rabbits. However, as part of this I need to know the average height/length of various breeds of rabbits such as dwarf lops and the cross breeds sold in pet shops, and I am struggling to find rabbits in my area to get this information off!
I will post my question in the 'tall tails & rabbit chinwag' section so as not to clutter up the meet and greet.
Any information you guys can give me will be much appreciated!
Thanks everyone!

Re: Hi everyone!
Hi and welcome to HH
Good project! I don't know what the average is in pet shops, but it isn't the 6' x 2' x 2' minimum required, in the main. It's tricky as different shop use different suppliers, but I guess if you took an average of the ones at say, Pets at Home, that might give you an answer. Most of the ones I see people with are 4' x 18" x 18" or 4' x 2' x 2'.
Here's a link to P@H hutches which may give you an idea.
Dunno if this will be of any help to you, but we made a video about bunny housing for our You-Tube channel.
Hope someone else can give you a better answer, and that you stay around, it'd be great to have you on board

Welcome to HH!
On the whole I would say that most out there are not adequate! Very few meet the minimum standard at all.
The info Jay has provided will show you this.
Welcome again and feel free to post any questions you may have we are always happy to help.

Welcome to Happy Hoppers
We are always delighted to help with anything that will make lives better for rabbits. Educating people to consider the living standards of rabbits is always worthwhile.
