Hi There :)
Hi everyone my name's Kelty and I adopted/saved my rabbit thumper
I posted an add online and a seemingly friendly guy replied saying he had a rabbit/cage for me and showed me pictures of the rabbit and I instantly wanted him however, when he dropped the rabbit off, the 'cage' the rabbit had been living in was seriously no bigger than a box, I think a guinea pig would have trouble living comfortably in there, and thumpers quite a big rabbit....it really annoyed me that he had been kept in there for all that time as its just cruel. The guy also had no idea of thumpers age or breed or whether he had any vaccinations of not :S
He reckons thumper's anywhere between 6-10 months old and I think from looking at other pictures he's part lop but i'm not entirely sure so any other guesses would be welcomed
Thumper is now happily living in an extremely large cage but he still gets really fussy if i dont let him out for at least a couple of hours everyday, and when i say out, i mean he literally has to have free range of the whole house....if a door is closed he gets annoyed and thumps until someone opens it for him. Also having a real trouble with him and litter training, he refuses to go in his cage (even though he has a litter tray) and instead he prefers to wait until I let him out and then the first thing he does is head straight for my sofa/carpet to relieve himself. So I'm gonna look into getting him neutered as my friend advised me that this might help.
I'm fairly new to keeping rabbits so any help/suggestions would be welcomed
But anyway, this is him
Thanks for reading

Hi there Kelty, welcome to HH
Your big boy is a looker. It is lovely that he is now getting the kind of life that a pet should have.
There are lots of threads here which will help you with some of the basic information about bunnies. Many members here have extensive experience so please post if there are problems as there is usually someone who can help.

Re: Hi There :)
Hi Kelty and welcome to you both Thank goodness you rescued this gorgeous bunny
Getting a housebun used to its new home can be a journey in itself, and it need patience, and perseverance, especially if they have been kept the way you Thumper has
Your home will seem like a very strange place for him. I would suggest that you don't give him too much space too soon, keep him in one room for a couple of weeks, and then let him out into bigger spaces gradually. Once he's neutered he will calm down after a few weeks.
There's lots of experience on here, so please don't hesitate to ask, no wuestion is a stupid one
