Foxglove has been referred by our vet and is off to see a rabbit specialist on Monday eve to have her teeth looked at. Going to be a nice 3 hour round trip for her and £66 for consultation for us plus x rays and the rest but hopefully will be worth it. Have seen him recommended on other rabbit forums and stuff as well so hopefully will be good news so vibes for Foxy please. Fingers crossed as her life literally hinges on this appointment as her roots are growing in badly and if he can't help she will have to be pts, possibly even before her first birthday and she is such a happy, loving, special rabbit. I hope everything goes well, who is she going to see?
Mackenzie is having his teeth pulled because we fear his roots may be heading the same way as Foxgloves Sad

Hi Sooz. She is going to see John Chitty at Strathmore Vets in Andover, Hampshire.

Is Mackenzie having all his back teeth removed? I am not sure what John is going to say but he said to my vets when they spoke to him a few weeks ago that he sometimes removes some of the teeth which helps- not sure how or if is some staggering thing or what but guess will see on Monday.

No Mack is just having his incisors and pegs removed but it's because we are really worried that the roots, mainly in his upper incisors, are going to start to erupt into his skull because the lowers are preventing them growing normally in a downward direction.

I have heard of molars being pulled but both my vets would refer for the procedure too. I think the main worry with molars is often the impact on the mandible.

Vibes for Foxglove, I hope he can do something for her. I remember attending a couple of his rabbit lectures, I couldn't understand his accent at all, I just had to pick out the key words Laughing Thankfully I had the notes to go with the lecture! He knows his stuff, she'll be in good hands Thumbs Up

(Vibes for Mack too Sooz Thumbs Up )
