Help, quick question! Empty Help, quick question!

Because Thistle has his collar on due to him chewing his stitches out after his castration, he hasn't been able to clean himself properly...and it also gets very messy when it comes to ceco time!
He keeps getting covered in poo...all over his tail, back legs and feet...I'm wandering if it will be okay to give him a small wash/bath in just warm water? Obviously due to his healing man parts I'm not sure if this would not be a good idea...:/
The collar also needs to be washed but I have no1 to help me today, as someone needs to keep an eye on him because as soon as it's off he starts chewing again! HBWS
So I thought I could kill two birds with one stone and give him a tiny bath...
If this isn't a good idea I'll just try my best to wipe him down, I'm just worried he may get an infection and it's not very nice him being all smelly for either of us Laughing
Any advice/help muchly appreciated!

Oh and I don't mean actually putting him in the water...just popping him in a sink or plastic tub and giving him a quick rinse with some warm water...he's easily scared so putting him in water would scare the hell out of him! Laughing

I think just giving him a tail bath would be OK. You would need to try to take off any clumps of poo with baby wipes before bathing. Even if you just washed him with cotton wool and a bowl so you don't put any poo into his sore part.

Such a shame he's been a pain by being a stitches nibbler. Hope he is healed up soon.

Thanks Nickie! Managed to wash his feet last night and his tail, he still has some on his sides though but it's not too bad...Hopefully by Christmas he will be all healed and better! Smile

Is the little monkey still picking at the wound?

Did the vet say how long it would be to properly heal?

Yep he still is, any chance he gets he's at it! We have to take it off to clean it when he gets poo on it and the first thing he does is slowly work his way down his leg then as soon as I turn away he's having a nibble!
She said about ten days, that was on monday...but I'm not sure if the one he pulled the stitches out of will take slightly longer to heal...he's gotta go for a check up this week.
