Quick vet trip question
The other night I found a scab on Temperance shoulder, it doesn't look like its from a bite/injury and so I am taking her to the vet tonight to get it checked.
Question is:
I haven't bought a new carrier since getting MJ and the current carrier... well they'll fit in but they'd be completely squished! The only other thing I have is a large clear plastic storage box. Should I bring T on her own in the carrier or bring them both in the storage box?
The vet is only a few mins away so she won't be away long, prob 30mins max.
Thanks,
Gayle

Re: Quick vet trip question
I think it's entirely your decision.
Personally, I always chose to travel mine everywhere together, even if only one of them is being seen. I worry that there might be disagreements when the bunny gets home smelling differently, and also I worry that it would be confusing for both buns to be suddenly away from each other.
Travelling with a friend offers them lots of comfort and support

Re: Quick vet trip question
I agree - Ted gets so much comfort from toffee that he is much easier for the vet to examine than if she isn't there.

Re: Quick vet trip question
Thats what I thought, my main concern now is getting them into the storage box given that I can't pick either of them up!

Re: Quick vet trip question
Is the carrier you have definitely too small for them both?

Re: Quick vet trip question
Unfortunately it is, they'll fit in but they won't be able to move
I've been meaning to buy one of those ones on amazon that everyone recommends since we got MJ but I've been a bit skint, I'll order one this month but not had enough time since I found the scab to get it here (found it sunday, called vets on Monday).
I have a potential plan... they have a table in their pen, I might be able to get them to jump down from the table into the storage box! MJ will probably be easier to convince than T, she knows when something is up!!

Re: Quick vet trip question
If you forbid them from going in it, they'll be straight in

Re: Quick vet trip question
If they are going in the car it is better that they cannot move than have too much space to slip around.

Back from the vet, managed to get them in the box! MJ fell for my jumping in plan, Temperance- no chance! I did manage to lift her in eventually :o
We put a blanket in so they wouldn't slip around
Got some cream for T's scab, vet reckons its nothing to worry about but to give them a call if it gets worse/doesn't improve

Well done
I'm glad the vet wasn't overly concerned. Good luck with the cream

New problem! Went to put the cream on when she was eating her dinner but the vet took the scab off and now I can't find the bit to put the cream on!

Re: Quick vet trip question
Only just seen this glad it's nothing serious , the vet will have took the scab off so the wound can breathe and it should clear up quicker with the cream on...when you find the spot

Not overly I think it was more of a 'just in case' measure, I'll just have to keep checking her to make sure its not come back!
