I have a question...
What exactly is head tilt? I think I read it something to do with an infection in the ears, I think. Is head tilt something a bunny would have for the rest of its life or is it something that would eventually go away?

Re: I have a question...
We have an article on head tilt here. Some bunnies do recover (Thumpersmum had one that did), some don't, it can depend on the cause, speed of diagnosis and treatment. Some buns seem to do fine with it, but others loose their balance and spin, it's not nice to see, I saw a bun like this when I went to collect Stewie, she was PTS eventually

Thanks for that link. So there isn't really anyway of preventing it, if it happens then you have to hope for the best. Oh why do do all these horrible disease and infections exist to make our special furries poorly Anyone on here with a head tilt bunny I hope they all get better soon and still live long and full lives. Oh no that is sad poor little girl Animals are so fragile and some people seem to forget this, we are supposed to look after them and cherish them.

Re: I have a question...
There are preventative steps you can take to reduce the chance of E. Cunniculi, but unfortunately, no-one seems to be able to give definitive answers on the use of Panacur, for this, and the experts all seem to disagree on how long you should give it for, under what circumstances and whether it is at all effective or not. Most bunny folk are completely perplexed by the Panacur debate, and I'm not surprised. You can read more on this here, the relevant section being 'Is there any treatment for E. cuniculi?'

Re: I have a question...
It is a horrible thing, and I am very fortunate that Thumper has recovered from the head tilt, although he does have EC health related issues. I will never forget having him spinning it was extremely distressing.
Jay is right, the whole issue of panacur and treatment of EC is mind boggling. One thing I am sure of is that I was given the wrong information which has had long term effects on both Thumper and Ruby. However, I now have a good vet I trust and a lot of people here that I can get advice from. That is a very good article Jay

Re: I have a question...
Yesterday I voiced my concerns to P@H staff and said I was concerned about a bunny there because she looks like she has head tilt, it is only a very slight tilt but still worth checking out.

Re: I have a question...
Well done hun.
A lot of P@H stores have vets in them so there should be no excuse!
