I'm sure she hates me!
I've had my bunny for just over a month now, I think.
I'm so sure she hates me, she runs away from me. And the other day I gave he rsome carrot I swear she was going to eat ME! I don't understand.
she has the run of a large kitchen and the hallway.she has a cage that she can go in if she wants to feel safe, is shelonely? x

Re: I'm sure she hates me!
Is she neutered and/or rescued? Some rescue buns can be traumatised from previous experiences and take ages to come round. Sometime entire females can be like that, apparently they respond to your pheromones, and if you wear perfume it can make it worse.
Re: I'm sure she hates me!
She was from p@h so she could be traumatised lol Jay are you stalking my posts? :p
if I wear perfume? I know...i'll roll in her bed, then she'll think i is bunny xox

Re: I'm sure she hates me!
Bunnies of a nervous disposition can take a while to trust big scary humans. Have you tried spending time down on the floor at her level with her and mimicking bunny body language?
Re: I'm sure she hates me!
I don't understand her body language, her ears are always down, and she just likes to eat thing sshe's not supposed to lol! i spend an hour with her each day more if Idon't have an ill pig lol. x

This website will help you understand bunny body language. By interacting with her in a way she will understand, you may find that she starts to feel more comfortable around you.
The chances are she will be happier with a friend but obviously with her not being neutered this limits your options. How old is she? Generally females can be neutered at 6 months old and in the long run this protects against uterine cancer which is very common in bunnies.
If you put her with another female there are likely to be fireworks, particularly as she is not spayed. You obviously can't put her with an un neutered male. You would need to get a castrated male in that instance.

Re: I'm sure she hates me!
As far as I know she's about 9months. we have an emergencyvet fund but otherhalf says its not an emergency. so a neutered male would be best for us...I think I saw, simbah amoment ago? xox

Re: I'm sure she hates me!
Ideally you would need to get her done eventually to protect her from uterine cancer. Her not being spayed may even make a castrated male a little crazy too!
Re: I'm sure she hates me!
I think Simbah is terrotorial? how well would he mix with my bunny? ahh.....catswhiskas, help! I don't want a lonely bunny:Dx

Re: I'm sure she hates me!
I would say your best bet would be to find a rescue that would do the bond for you.
Re: I'm sure she hates me!
That sounds like a good plan. Do you know any near me? xox

Re: I'm sure she hates me!
I agree with the neutering thing, my Luna was so stroppy for months and months, we got her neutered she calmed down a bit...but was lonely...we got Thistle but she HATED him till he was neutered, now they are best of friends!! Neutering is a defo a good investment...because of course it prevents uterine cancer as well . Other things I did to calm her down was buy some seren um drops from pets at home, HOWEVER they did sort of work, but I don't think they agreed with her digestive system - too much protein or something. So maybe not the best idea. We also spent time on floor level bonding with her ourselves, she particularly liked hanging out in the lounge with us and would lie on the sofa next to me or the OH !!
Don't think she hates you though , she will come round if you work together doing the right things Good luck!! x

Re: I'm sure she hates me!
Bugs would definately need to go with a neutered lady. I think this is where the stumbling block may be
Re: I'm sure she hates me!

Re: I'm sure she hates me!
Yeah he is but his character would be difficult to bond with an entire female that is all. He is a lovely chap though.
Re: I'm sure she hates me!
would a bubby be accepted any easier? Could we give him a go? I could bring issobelle with me and maybe she could pick someone? xox
