The great escape - how to foil it?
No, not the bank holiday staple movie - but SWMBO has just "inherited" a new bunny that's a bit of a digger. I'm currently building a new run - 2m x 2m which will contain the hutch and allow free reign in and out within the run. As it's on the grass, I wonder what to put on the grass to stop any Steve McQueen-esque shenanigans. I did think of chicken wire, but I wonder whether he will get his feet caught in it. Ideally I would like to be able to move the run and hutch combo so that there is frequent fresh grass underfoot.
Any ideas?

ps - to foil the easy escape plan, I've confiscated the vaulting horse.

This is tough. The only thing I can think of is chicken wire. If it is the wide variety it should be ok for the feeties?

Wire would have been my initial thought, but then you worry about their feet either getting caught as you said, or sore from the wire. However, if your willing to keep the grass relatively long and move the enclosure frequently I don't think that would be an issue, especially on relatively soft ground.
It takes my pair approx. 2 days to eat all the grass in their 6' x 3' run.

Make sure you check their trousers in case they are smuggling the soil out.
We have friends who made a portable run and he lined the bottom of the run with chicken wire. If it goes onto a good thick piece of grass, it softens the wire and their buns didn't seem to mind.
Alternatively, you could just keep an eye on the bun and keep moving the run daily.
