Our wild Rabbit Casualty
We live in a little village and there are lots of country lanes and you often see wild rabbits eating grass by the roadside, many get run over and die and some get run over and are still alive with horrendous leg injuries and Mike will bring them home and we give them pain relief and put them in an old rabbit run that we use and make them as comfortable as we can and keep them warm and half cover the run. They never survive as their injuries are so bad but we give them a little bit of love and care in their final moments.
I know it is difficult sometimes not to see an animal when driving until it's to late but I see so many drivers driving well over the speed limit and a rabbit just doesn't stand a chance.
Sadly this little fellow didn't make it and is now buried in our garden.

I think you are both wonderful and thank you for trying to save them. They know, in their last moments that you care for and love them. I am sitting here crying.
Lots of bunny hugs

Oh I do hope I don't upset anyone with these photos, this little fellow although look's as if he's passed on the third photo he hadn't he was just resting, wild rabbits roll sometimes in trauma and he had been rolling and we had been stroking him and calming him down. The photo's were taken last May.
I will remove them if people are to distressed.

Re: Our wild Rabbit Casualty
If you can't heal, you can help to pass and that is just a valuable. Wild animals are often so stressed that they don't survive but at least their last hours are comfortable and you were able to give pain relief which must have made things so much easier for them.
