Lucy with her favorite thing in the world!
When she came to me she didn't seem to know how to play with toys. Lucy has found out how to play with toys now, and she isn't nearly as shy!
She is obsessed her Teddy. I thought I would share

Re: Lucy with her favorite thing in the world!
Yes I will always stick to Lion Lops now. I think even though they are a kind breed I was extra lucky with Lucy because she is more like a male in her nature. I just wish her ears would lop sometimes haha. She most defiantly doesn't look to miss her days as a show and breeding doe.
This is even more reason to not be afraid to take on retired or unsuited breeding does. I am glad i did in this case The problem with Lucy is she "didn't want to breed". That makes her even stranger Her only love seems to be her teddy

She is gorrrrrrrrgeous and a credit to you, that is one very happy Ewok! Well done to you, she really is the picture of health and happiness
Any tips you think I would find usefull in grooming one of these fluffs? My dutches are a piece of cake of course, so as I look at Lucy I am wondering if their is any key to that success that you may be happy to share with myself and our young Roarrrrry!??

Re: Lucy with her favorite thing in the world!
lucy is gorgeous. Im glad shes not a breeding doe. She'd likely be locked in a small cage with no happiness in her life. Its lovely to see her having fun.

She's so cute!!! What a pretty girl. My mum has a thing for lion heads, she's said I'm not allowed any other bunnies unless they are lion heads

Re: Lucy with her favorite thing in the world!
She's lovely Emma, I find that house buns sorta grow into their life, and get more adventurous & playful the longer they live with you
Re: Lucy with her favorite thing in the world!
No she never had a litter, even though Dee tried to breed her many times and she gets spayed this summer.
She isn’t frustrated if that is what your trying to get at – she is just extremely playful.

Re: Lucy with her favorite thing in the world!
Go for a Lion Lop I think they are better in temperament. I have been informed that Lionhead females can be quite nasty but never having had a Lionhead I am not sure how accurate that is. Although if you want a thoroughbread like Lucy you “may” have to go to a breeder as they are quite a new breed i believe. Rescues do have lion lops also but I think they are cross, not that it matters. I was going to get a cross from a rescue and then Lucy came along, and I felt with her situation being an un wanting breeding doe and me wanting a young adult bunny, it just fit.
Re: Lucy with her favorite thing in the world!
This is what I heard about lion heads but most people have come to the conclusion that taffie is a lion head and shes so sweet, very interactive and lively. I do think hutches make a difference. My nethie jeff would make me believe netherlands are aggressive when he is kept in a hutch he can be quite nasty where as in the shed hes an angel. Maybe some people say lions are fiesty due to not being suited to hutch life.
Re: Lucy with her favorite thing in the world!
Thank you so much for your kind words and I will take your advice. I don;t mind having a cross at all, in fact they tend to be a little hardier don't they?
It won;t be for yet a while though, Snuffles is still going strong bless him.

Re: Lucy with her favorite thing in the world!
Very much so! My last cross was 17 when he died, yet my late pure breed only lived for three years (although he had a really bad stomach condition). I love crosses but you wont necessarily get the same characteristics. But they are all lovely never the less. :-)
Re: Lucy with her favorite thing in the world!
WOW, seventeen that is a brilliant age. We think we are doing well with our Mr Snuffles being eight and a half LOL. I agree, characteristics are never certain, but as you say dear, we love them anyway.
