Show me your runs!
I may have posted something similar on here, but i cant remember! I decided to try and make my run as natural as possible for Marley and Dolly. Before it looked like this...
Then i made it like this...
Today i emptied it all out to change the soil and bark for fresh stuff, but there were LOADS of spiders and bugs, which i HATE and im really scared of. Ive disinfected the area and it should be about dry. They loved it when it was "natural", and i dont want to take that away from them, but i dont want all of the bugs.
Please can you post your ideas? And any pictures you have of your runs/aiverys? I need something that is easier to maintain

Thank you very much! It means a lot, as ive done most of it myself having never picked up a screw driver, saw or hammer in my life! I should post some pictures of the playhouse itself some time
Though, i wasnt loving it quite so much earlier, when all the creepy crawlies were jumping out at me!

... I feel bad now though because i had to change how it is in the second picture. Dolly came through the cat flap when id done and was thumping in utter disgust for the firts half an hour! With all the damp weather recently it was a nightmare to maintain and was attracting too many bugs. The ramp has come off the hidey house, cost me £35 too! The bark chip area is now all hay and straw, which they seem to like, should be easier to maintain, hopefully. Ive put the soil into a storage box instead. Its a shame i had to change it, they looked so happy when they were trashing the old layout!

Re: Show me your runs!
i bought one run and thought it wasnt big enough,so bought another one and put them together,so there is a few ways i can pin them together but i like it like this better as it gives them longer space to run and they adore it

Re: Show me your runs!
Noooo, dont be silly, i quite like yours! I was looking at one of those 6x4 metal runs today.fall3n-ang3l wrote:wow, that looks amazing, mine is just plain boring compared to yours
I use a playpen to allow them safe grazing time, but Dolly Monster stood on her log bridge and chewed a huge hole in the net that goes over the top! I should have bought it there and then, never mind.
...My run doesnt look like that anymore, i need to take some pictures, its not as nice as before, but its a lot easier to maintain!

Re: Show me your runs!
This is actually a bit sneaky of me because it doesnt look like this anymore, Its half the size and just has hay in it, Im trying to keep it clean for Dom's feet a bit longer just to be safe and its smaller than this because i cant cover ten feet in hay! BUT....this is what it did look like and what it will look like again soon!
Hay box, dirt box, and bark chip area
