RSPCA volunteering
I got an email back about volunteering
They need someone to help fund raise for their branch, its a self funded branch and its to work with the chair person in my area and try to raise some funds, and also help with rehoming if need be. I am really excited, i said i cant guarentee what I can do/how long due to work commitments but it is something i really want to do!

Re: RSPCA volunteering
I've had some more info, its basically to have someone help run some fundraising events locally to mirror what they do in Southend which is about half hour away maybe a bit more, IF they can get it big enough they want to open a branch in Maldon which is why they are looking for volunteers - this is so important because there is nothing around here at all , got to phone him tomorrow to find out more!
I did explain that I cant guarantee what hours I can offer when I get a job but I hope it will be good enough! so excited!

Re: RSPCA volunteering
Well just had an update.
A guy phoned me the other day and he said they dont deal with rabbits so i felt a bit disheartened. BUT the women who had phoned me today said they want to, they just have no rabbit people around.
So I am going to start fundraising for them, handing out leaflets, home checks, arranging fundraising events etc, and then in a few months once i have a feel for it and feel comfortable we are going to start doing more with rabbits. she said I may even be able to be a "rabbit co ordinator" for the branch!
and she said when theres rabbit week next year we can do an awareness event and stuff, shes already given out my phone number to someone who wants to rehome a rabbit, so im going to point them in the direction of our local rescue.
fab isnt it!

Re: RSPCA volunteering
SJ this is EXACTLY how me and Dawn got into it and why we did. They NEED rabbit people and this is your chance to make a real difference for the rabbits in your area! This is big stuff!
