Make sure they have eaten well the day before and the morning that they go in and send a packed lunch with them, they must be kept indoors when they come home and I keep mine on 7 days cage rest so that they don't jump around or cause ay damage to themselves, there are at a real risk of herniating if they are not kept still and quiet
Usually a female does not eat for around 24 hours after the op but if you put lots of tempting food in for them then they will eat when they are ready
