Re: Brie U/D Nesting - Now has BABIES!
I collected Brie on Saturday and on Monday she deteriorated and so this morning I took her to see Paula who was as puzzled as the rest of us, Paula thinks it's more neurological than anything else, we already have her on treatment which Tracy started and so we are to conintu with that, she is booked in for her first accupuncture on Thursday, obviously it's 24 hour monitoring until we see improvement.
Please send this gorgeous girl your vibes, she really is a fighter and is so lovable

Re: Brie U/D Nesting - Now has BABIES!
Brie is still the same as she was on Tuesday but she has gone from this
To this in two weeks
I am taking her for her first accupuncture session this afternoon and we are just praying that it helps her, we are sure she is not in any pain and from the waist up she is a very happy, inquisitive little girl, she has a real fighter spirit about her
Lots of vibes are needed for Brie please

Re: Brie U/D Nesting - Now has BABIES!
Thank you for the vibes, Brie had her first session of acupuncture and did OK, I think she was a bit bewildered by it but was OK, it's a case of monitoring her now, she is going back for her second session next week. It's so frustrating no knowing for sure what it is, I just hope we can help her

Re: Brie U/D Nesting - Now has BABIES!
Oh dear!, we seem to be going 3 steps forward and two back at the moment
Today has been a bad day for Brie, she hasn't been able to stand up at all and when I did stand her up she fell over, the only way she could move around was to drag her back legs, she hasn't used them at all today
She also sits in a really funny position, her back legs come right the way forward

Re: Brie U/D Nesting - Now has BABIES!
Well, Brie hasn't been very good today, she isn't able to stand or use her back legs at all, I have managed to get her in the specialist at 8am in the morning, is it a 2 hour drive to get there so we have a long day in front of us
I really hope he can help her
Katie - we don't think she is in pain but she is having pain relief just in case

Thanks Katie,
OK, back from the specialist and I have to say to start with that I am very grateful to Jason for fitting me in at such short notice, I rang last night at 6.50 pm and he said he would see me at 8 am this morning before he started work and came in especially to do so because he understood how worried I am about Brie
Jason gave Brie a thorough examination and came up with several options of what he thought might be the problem
1. Fractured or broken back
2. Slipped disc in her back
3. An abcess or tumour on her spine
4. Neurological problems
5. E Cuniculi
Being as Brie first showed these symptoms in January and was left untreated by her previous owner, we thought that it would be more likely to be an injury, however we decided to opt for an xray which Jason carried out, it showed that Brie did not have a broken or fractured back and it showed no sign of injury, it also gave no indication of a tumour or an abcess but that can't be ruled out, only a MRI scan can determine that and at a cost of £2000 we decided that we would eliminate everything else first
Jason also felt that it wasn't neurological as from the waist up there are no symptoms at all and Brie appears to be bright, happy and healthy and so we are back to E Cuniculi and the damage done by it, we have had a titre test done and will get the results next week
All in all I am pleased that there is no serious injury but I am concerned that it may be abcess or tumour on the spine, I am to carry on with the medication and wait for the results so as Jason can assess Brie again, it's been a long day for us both but Brie travelled very well considering that it was nearly 2 hours each way

Oh Theo, those last photographs are heartbreaking. I hope you can find out what the problem is and hopefully help her. She is such a pretty girl and deserves more.

Re: Brie U/D Nesting - Now has BABIES!
Im glad that he has been able to rule out injury. Hopefully when the test comes back he will have a better Idea about what it really is so that she can be treated.
Bless her little heart, she is getting the best care she could wish for though, so she has the best chance of fighting whatever this nastiness is.
Sending more hugsx x
