Yep, until Charlotte and Dawn started doing their fostering/rehoming work, I had absolutely no idea of how it all worked.

Re: How much do rescues charge for adoptions?
I hope my post did'nt infer any critisism of Charlotte or Dawn or any of the fantastic rescues around. The place I got Mindy from purported to be a rescue but seems to have branched into breeding too, as I suppose they saw a market for certain breeds of rabbits. I was annoyed that I was conned. I am lucky to have a vet who does'nt appear to charge more for giants than other bunnies. I know that since I started using my vet he has been reading up on rabbits and his knowledge of their illnesses etc has grown.
Would just like to say that regardless of cost, I would now be very reluctant to take on a female rabbit who has not been spayed. I just would not want to go through the worry of putting a bunny I have grown to love through that again. The whole experience was so awful when I had Bonnie done that when Hazel and Mindy went through it I was sick with worry. I have nothing but admiration for people such as Charlotte and Dawn. x
