Flopsy's poorly
Uncovered them this morning and fed them but Flopsy wasnt interested
He done what he did last time and went out into the run and just sat hunched up in the corner.
I got in there with him (bit of a squeeze) and rubbed his tummy, he just sat there and couldn't be bothered with anything or anyone
I managed to syringe him some warm water and mushed up pellets.
Went out again after lunch and he was back in his hutch, i took out a cup of warm water and syringe and he drank a bit more water
I couldnt believe what he did next after i'd filled the syringe up from the cup he stuck his head in the cup and started lapping up the warm water
Iv'e been in and out all day keeping an eye on him and he's just eaten a fenugreek crunchy
I really hope i done the right thing giving him warm water and mushy pellets
Just hope he's ok.

Re: Flopsy's poorly
Firstly the warm water
I've just got Mike to read it with me and we both think that Flopsy has had a bit of tummy ache, try a little bit of pineapple juice as we always give them about 10mls of pineapple juice every so many hours and some water as well if we think they have tummy aches. Get him out in his run as a bit of excercise is always good to get the digestive system on the move and shift anything. Just keep your eye on him.
If you are worried Jo give us a ring or text me.
We buy those packs of 200ml cartons of pineapple juice from Tesco as they are a nice size as you always end up wasting some.

Re: Flopsy's poorly
Is Flopsy sitting flat out with his tummy pressed to the floor and does he look uncomfortable, like sitting down and then getting up that's usually a sign of tummy ache. Is his tummy hard or soft? as it can also be a sign of bloat.

Re: Flopsy's poorly
Thanks Maysie
Thought the warm water was right didnt exactly plan on him drinking it from the cup though i just put the cup down on hutch floor while i filled the syringe up.
Right i'm off to run Flopsy round the garden
Thanks Maysie, your a star
I'll keep a very close eye on him and if needs be he can come inside for the night.
I'll keep you informed of how he is.

Re: Flopsy's poorly
Well the little tinker has been out in the garden, on Aunty Maysie's orders , eaten some hay and a dandelion
He went back in and pooped Not runny ones but definately moist.
He's been back out himself with Flora running around so hopefully he is ok

Re: Flopsy's poorly
Phew!
Blimey Flopsy!
Glad whatever has upset him seems to be passing.
Sounds like you did all the right things. What a fright.
Keep us updated how he is, sending vibes and nose rubs for Flopsy and hugs for you (Id send a stiff drink If I was able to!)

Re: Flopsy's poorly
Thanks all
Flopsy's Aunty Maysie advised me how to sort him out and he looks like he's on the mend
Little scallywag gave me such a fright
Gave me such a giggle though when he drank warm water from the cup while i was filling up the syringe
