Drippin' flippin' water bottle!! Aaargh!!
Thumper has a free standing water bottle for when she is out and about - which does the occasional drip - this I can handle.
She has another one attached to the side of her cage (it came with the cage) - this one is like a slow running tap.... It's driving me spare
Does anyone have a clue how to stop it? Is it just knackered?
There's a bowl under it to catch the water, which she drinks from there, but still... it's bugging my happiness
Yours faithfully,
Miss P.S.D Off

Sometimes it is the bottle. Some bottles drip and others don't! Sometimes if the bottle is full it will be OK, but once it gets below a certain level, off it goes constantly. Also, temperature can have an effect too.

Unfortunately thumper likes to paddle so you end up with EVERYTHING in the bowls. And her feet soak up most of the water!! So I need to have a bottle too

Hmm... Think you might be on to something here with the level and/or temperature because it's fine some days and a complete pain others!!NickieM wrote:Sometimes it is the bottle. I tend not to fill the bottles right up because she drinks bottled water and most of it is poured out because she's not a big drinker.
Thanks, I'll give it some thought

I agree on the temperature link. I always think they leak more on days where the temperature varies a lot over the 24hour period.

We use Ezi-filla bottles besides dishes as they are non drip and fantastic and we have used them for years with no problems. We buy in bulk though with having lots of buns.

Re: Drippin' flippin' water bottle!! Aaargh!!
I'll have to have a look at those Maysie!
I've been through 6 water bottles I think and every single one has dripped. The best ones I've had are the glass supa-pet ones, they drip a little initially or after drinking but I've got a bowl under it. If your clumsy like me they smash easy though, I'm on my third, oops.
I've got a giant clear plastic one on the hutch too (with the red screw top where the spout is) and that drips like mad, the wood underneath is going pretty mank so I'm going to have to do something with it.
I have to have both bottles and bowls, Tigger drinks from both but Jeeves is a bottle boy.

Re: Drippin' flippin' water bottle!! Aaargh!!
I took charlies bottle away, couldnt attatch it to anythign so he has a bowl, he seems to prefer the bowl, gets his drink much quicker took him ages to get a small drink out the damn bottle and click clicky was all you heard him going at it for 20 mins hardly getting any. He has a nice drink and then runs off to play.

The 3 of us didn't do very well here! VT, you wrote "bows", Josie, you wrote "bowels" and I wrote that thumper drinks tap water when I actually meant bottled water.
People must have wondered what I was going on about, it made no sense at all!
Jo, she would! She is terrible! I'm sure her thought process is:jolovesbunnies wrote:Perhaps she would like a paddling pool LOL!!

1. Find water bowl
2. Insert front legs
3. Splash about and soak everything in the room
4. Start washing your front paws in the bowl
5. Walk around the room leaving wet foot prints everywhere
Maysie, thank you, I will look them up
