Daddy flippin' long legs!!!
There's a daddy long legs loose in my house somewhere It was too high to reach this morning and now it's hiding somewhere!
Do I need to be wary of it?
Thank you.

No they are harmless and they will be as scared of you as you are of them, we just scoop them up in our hands and let them loose outside

Re: Daddy flippin' long legs!!!
I'm not sure I should admit this, but I'm going to
I used to have one of those electronic wasp killers, the ones that look like a tennis racket that electrocutes them. I am seriously scared of wasps.
Anyway, via my step-daughter, I found out that if you used them on a daddy longlegs, they sparked
After that I couldn't stop myself using it on any that came in the house

Re: Daddy flippin' long legs!!!
Just to be sure we are taking about the same spider to me this is a granddaddy long-legs: ]
They are weird spiders! I was visiting a friend one day and they had a huge picture window. In a perfectly horizontal line across that window was a row of these big spidees on the outside. And they were not just sitting there. They were moving rhythmically like they were doing push-ups against the window. It actually looked norty. They were in perfect unison. Up-down-up-down. If I walked closer they increased the humping motion. When I backed away they slowed down. I was feeling like I was being watched by a 1000 eyes!

Re: Daddy flippin' long legs!!!
I used to work with a girl who fed the spiders in her house to her cat. Yuk!!!
For example, if there was one on the wall, she'd pick up the cat and hold him in front of the spider and he would eat it!!!

I haven't done that with a spider before (I actually don't mind them so long as they don't build a web near me because they're going to eat all the horrible flies!) but I have tried several times before with a fly. Needless to say the fly won. He'll happily chase them if he's on the ground, but as soon as you lift him up to show it him he looks very confused about the situation
