Never had this problem but if it happened I would use cold water or a cold compress, depending on where the wound was. If it was really bad... straight to the vet!

I use the johnsons anti-bac wound powder with the pigs and it works pretty quickly. Because they are so wiggly the chances of nicking the quick at least once when cutting nails of the four of them is quite high.

yeah for the nails, Ive cut most of the buns nails when they first come here and they are so over grown. Id bought some of them bleed stop from p@h and you snap the bud on one side and it goes to the tip on the other. Well I was cutting ginge's nails when he first came and he has 1 all black one so I just took a little off, It didnt bleed straight away but when it did there was alot. I used about 4 of them buds you only get 8 in a pack. I was just wondering if there is anything better x

It's quite difficult to see the quick in black bunny nails so the best thing to do in future if you can is just shine a torch under the nail and you should be able to see the quick easier.

I use the Johnson's wound powder as well but thankfully my buns have white nails (except Juno) so it is very rare that a quick gets snipped nowadays. I do usually hold a cotton pad over the nail for a few minutes as well as using the powder though.

It's only happened to me once, I pressed it with a cotton woll ball, then dabbed cornflour over the top, it stopped bleeding quite quickly.
I didn't have anything else, but it worked ok Smile
